Residents in Guiyang city, south-west China, thought they were imagining things when they saw a massive waterfall cascading out of a high-rise building in the middle of the street.
In fact, the 108-metre-tall (350ft) fall is indeed a part of the towering Liebian Building, located at a public plaza in the city's central business district.
A large tank is installed at the foot of the 121-meter-tall (397ft) skyscraper, where four 185-kilowatt pumps would lift the water to the top of the fall.

That’s gotta be good for the long term structural health of the building. Everyone knows water is very helpful to structures.

That is why most buildings are located indoors.
Hard water, soft water?
It’s gotten to 34 degrees in January... will they turn it off?
Wait until someone pours a box of Tide into it.
That’s gonna be fun when the wind blows that water spray all over the place. It would have been better to break up the fall a bit, put several steps in.
The Chinese come up short when it comes to interior decorating. This stuff should be kept indoors.
Just a matter of time before some kids messing around at the top go over the edge. :-0
Actually they don't run the thing every day but just on special occasions so winter won't be a problem. At least they won't ever need to have window washers clean one side of the building if they do that sort of thing over there.
Looks like there are a few open windows on the building too. Lol
It’s really amazing what American money can build all around the world.
It’s exciting to think that soon we will be able to build it here in our country, using her own money again.
They should make it truly representative of Chinese waterways and seed the thing with garbage and industrial waste.
LOL
Or a big bottle of Dawn in it!
Then they can play Don Ho singing “Tiny Bubbles” on the building intercom system..
I guess they won’t need a window washer to work that face of the building.
That’s be great down here in FL when it’s 95 degrees... would keep the area around cool
With this worthless waterfall, I can now see all those bubbles bursting as they crash the Chinese economy.
When there’s room for extravagances like this, is an economic downfall too far behind?
The Chinese were enamored with themselves during the Obama rob-the-US-piggybank years. Ungrateful, too. Hell, they even “forgot” to wheel a staircase over to allow His Royalty Zero to get off his plane in Shanghai.
But now, it’s time to pay the piper — and the first guy to put a waterfall (inside) his hotel. And the piper’s name is Mr. Donald J. Trump, VSG!
