Popular U.S. comedian and host of the top rating 'The Daily Show' Trevor Noah has come under fire for a comedy routine where he called Aboriginal women unattractive.
Footage of his stand-up show, from 2013, emerged ahead of his Australian tour, which starts in Melbourne next month.
'All women of every race can be beautiful,' Noah tells an audience in the footage which emerged online overnight.
'And I know some of you are sitting there now going, 'Oh Trevor, yeah, but I've never seen a beautiful Aborigine', he jokes.

They probably look just fine to the men who love them. What I find interesting is that when I was ever-so-much younger, Aborigines were classified as Caucasians. Now they are their own subset.
I’m still trying to figure out why having one drop of Negro blood makes you black but having 75% Caucasian/Semite blood doesn’t make you white.
Popular? U.S. comedian? Two incorrect characteristics right off the bat!
He really shouldn't have said that...
yet strangely, they are Caucasoid by their bone structure!
Good point - beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder
So Jerry Seinfeld's kids are half Jewish.
40K+ years ago folks walk out of Africa. Some stay in the Middle East as northern eurasia north of the Taurus is under an ice-cap, others walk down across indonesia into australia (water levels are much lower so lots of land bridges)
Some stick around in the Andaman and Nicobar islands becoming Jarawas
others hit the jackpot heading into Australia, a tropical wonderland with lots of big meat-providing animals (mega fauna)
So what if the sea levels rise, cutting you off, you still have easy meat for 10s of thousands of years
Then the climate dries (Australia is the only continent without glaciers)
you then create your myths such as the dreaming about the time before. you split into many many different language groups --there are 4 or 5 language families native to Australia
Then, after thousands of years, other humans come in the 1700s.
They bring crops, horses, cattle (you had NO domesticable animals or plants in Australia before the humans, so there was no way Aborigines could have moved on to Agriculture or animal husbandry)
They treat you as savages, kill you for the land to raise their sheep, then chase you, imprison you, take your children away from you forcibly to "breed out the aborigine" from them
This succeeds among the Aborigines in Tasmania (the most primitive), and partially among the rest on the mainland
Aborigines aren't genetically prepared for the Eurasian diseases so 90% die (as did the native Americans)
They also aren't able to easily metabolize alcohol like Eurasians (except japanese) can do, so fall prey to alcoholism
They are now a marginalized people who still remember their ancient past but their culture was thousands of years behind Eurasian culture when Captain Cook came.
it's because we are Christian we see it as evil. Prior to Christianity, it seemed just normal. Watch the serial "Rome" and you'll see how normal it was, even morally ok.
Christianity changed all of that. Now we can't imagine slavery.
"Aboriginal Australians descend from the first human explorers," explains lead author and University of Copenhagen professor Eske Willerslev in a news release. "While the ancestors of Europeans and Asians were sitting somewhere in Africa or the Middle East, yet to explore their world further, the ancestors of Aboriginal Australians spread rapidly ... traversing unknown territory in Asia and finally crossing the sea into Australia."
"Race" is really a very amorphous term. By bone structure, the Aborigine seems Caucasian yet come from a time after Caucasians-Mongoloids split off from sub-saharan africans but before the Cs and Ms split off themselves.
It’s evil for all the reasons enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, for starters.
The Federalist Papers go into the argument over slavery, and its so clear that even the Declaration is a compromised document.
The God-given rights: Originally, it was going to be Life, Liberty, and Property. Problem with the latter is people could be property. Makes this statement on what is God-given so ironic that its ludicrous on its face.
It was changed to ‘Pursuit of happiness’. Still ridiculous in the face of one class of people owning another class of people as property, but it was at least defensible.
All people should at least start out as free people. God gives us free will, and he made us.
And it makes no sense to evaluate this outside of a religious context since the country was founded invoking rights derived from God.
The ‘Everybody’s doing it’ defense for slavery is specious.
However, there is the context that if a culture possessed a clear military advantage over another culture, they were almost morally obligated to exploit it. It was your responsibility as the defender of that culture to do so, with the expectation that if that innovation were in a neighboring culture’s possession, they’d be so obligated.
From that perspective, you could view slavery as moral, preferable to erasing the thread through some Carthaginian-style genocide, where every living human is killed.
Like I said, that was when I was 40 years younger. DNA wasn’t much of a thing back then so physiology was about all there was to go on.
The Declaration derives from Christian thought
