You speak dog better than you think you do. You may not be fluent; that would require actually being a dog. But if you went to live in a dogs-only world, youd be pretty good at understanding what theyre saying. You can tell a nervous yip from a menacing growl, a bark that says hello from a bark that says get lost. You can read the body language that says happy, that says sad, that says tired, that says scared, that says Please, please, please play with me right now!

Dogs are the best!
This article about dogs has a lot of emotional sillyness in it.
It could have been so much better.
The bit about understanding dog was decent.
The older one is like a dog-- he loves you unconditionally. The younger one is like a cat-- he makes you work to earn his affection.
Does a French poodle and a German Sheppard speak the same language?
As said before: “I wish I was half as good as my dogs think I am.”
In an ad below the story they ask what your dogs favorite toy is. I have 2 dogs, a 6 pound poodle who loves a toy hedge hog, and a 60 pound catahoula his favorite is a singing shark. What’s your dogs favorite?
That’s funny.
I agree; it was not what I expected.
Oui, ja. Si, nein.
Nobody loves a human more than my cat loves me.
My little mutts favorite toy is any rabbit stupid enough to wander into our back yard.
A hunk of orange and green fabric that used to be a squeaky carrot before he tore it apart. He picks it up and fiercely shakes it, tosses it and shakes it some more. I dont have the heart to throw it out. He has other toys but he always plays with that one, the vanquished carrot .
Dogs know that you will feed them when alive and when you drop dead they will still ah... get fed.
They have to learn one-another’s “language”!
LOL!
You'll have other dogsBUT you're the only one in his life.
Hard to believe my Bichon is descended from a wolf. Proof of devolution. :)

Selection of juvenile traits.

That said, some will eat you while you're alive!
They have great vocabularies. Their ability to learn never ceases to amaze me.
My little one year old Black Lab is my buddy. I’m way more fond of that little guy than a whole lot of people I’ve known.
