Fighting a total war requires expediency. It really does. And as someone has pointed out, NO ONE would have believed, and even some barely do today, at the genocide that was taking place. On that basis, it was justifiable to turn them away. WE, the good people of America didn’t know....
But that does not take away the pain when we realize afterwards the truth so profoundly expressed by POGO:

As others have noted upthread, the rats had already invaded the higher circles of government and were making decisions of betrayal which you and I, nor likely our parents, would ever have countenanced. I submit that others at the levers of power did know of the genocide, and hardened their hearts.
In a lot of ways, what is part of the action of Q research, except to attempt to RECLAIM history and find out the truth to refute those who have been lying to us?
It IS painful, but if we want to know the truth and then to heal, we have to pull the bandaid off and let the putrescence out, and then clean it up. Then it can heal.
I am sorry, but I have no guilt. Zero Nada. My father and his generation were fighting to liberate EVERYONE including JEWS from the NAZIS.
We have taken many refugees in then and going forward including JEWS as well as people who are likely sleeper enemies. USA owes NO APOLOGY to anyone. We have provided military protection for the whole darn world since WWII, and what the other countries provide is a drop in the bucket.
Give me a break. What we should be doing is the same thing we did when Ellis Island was operational. JMHO.
