Wide Open West was down last week secondary to a cut major fiber line. Most of Michigan was out for about 24 hours.

Not clear if they actually meant to say “cut” in the literal sense, i.e., a physical break.
And maybe they weren’t really sure when they made the statement. Could have been merely an interuption due to a software glitch or a burned-out transistor.
Anyway, probably best for the company and the gov’t not to release too much info on the matter, because the said info could be useful to potential saboteurs and foreign snoopers.
