Good idea or not, will these people ever stop attacking the fan base? That didn't work out for Solo did it?

Bad directing.

Bad movie.

Maybe it can be fixed the way the lady ghostbusters dvd was, by adding 4 more dance scenes.

It’s the latest step made by a cabal of awful “Star Wars” fans, who have petitioned to have “The Last Jedi” thrown out of the “Star Wars” canon.

There used to be a time in America where movie makers and comic writers actually wanted their fans to like their stories. Yeah, good times. Good times.

The only thing The Last Jedi lacked was a gay pride parade.

Evert Star Wars pic after Empire Strikes Back needs to be re-made.

And maybe that one too.

The Force Awakens sucks just as bad and had the same problems, you would have to re-make that also.

I liked Rogue One and parts of TFA but otherwise, yeah. Even RotJ was pretty lame other than some of the Luke/Vader/Emperor scenes.

The Ewoks made it an embarrassment. It was clear that Lucas care about trying to sell a toy more than making a credible movie.

In the south they say football is the most important unimportant thing. On that scale Star Wars must be the least important unimportant thing. How do people get their knickers in a twist about a stupid movie?

It’s the latest step made by a cabal of awful “Star Wars” fans, who have petitioned to have “The Last Jedi” thrown out of the “Star Wars” canon. Those fans are mad about several different things, including the movie’s treatment of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but also contains (or is made up of) a contingent of fans who are mad about the “social justice warrior” tack the recent movies have taken.

Movie's unfair treatment of Mark Hamill = not killing him off?

Really, if you hate what's become of Star Wars there are dozens of SF franchises to choose from.

Basically, Star Wars has become GIRL POWER!!! Each new movie has featured the theme of the women straightening out/saving the Galaxy Far, Far Away from the mess men made of it.

Leia is really the brains and savior of the entire Galaxy. She is above her disillusioned Jedi Master brother who just bolted when the going got tough. A brother that made a mess of the force and botched the hard won victory over the Empire. She is the ex-wife of a smuggler that evidently never grows up. She is the mother of a whiny, ADD son who went off the rails. That poor woman is just saddled with useless men!!!

And of course we have the prequel “Rogue One” featuring a woman who manages to straighten out the entire Rebellion, call them to unity and really really really was the important person behind the entire blowing up the Death Star thingy. Her and, of course, Leia.

Followed next by the Last Jedi where we meet Luke only to discover that he is your typical bitter, lost soul Jedi Master who needed a woman, of course, a woman, to come and remind him of his sense of duty and straighten his arse out. I mean, it took him training with Master Yoda to learn the force. The chick, she just got it by magically touching a lightsaber.

Don’t forget, we have Leia and Purple Haired Admiral Chick being the adults in the room. They saved the Rebellion from those heathen men who always have to be sooo macho. If only they would get in touch with their feelings. Of course, in saving the Rebellion, they managed to get most of them slaughtered.

And of course, we have “Solo” where the entire inspiration behind our hero was, you got it, a woman who he deserted so that he could escape. Of course, it was irrelevant because GIRL POWER!!! meant said woman did not need the help of some scruffy nerf herder. She becomes the brains behind the entire operation that allows Solo to get the Mellinium Falcon, etc.

There you go!!! Star Wars remade as a #MeTo vehicle. What is next, does Leia Galactically tweet that Solo was an abusive husband or does she talk about how Jabba the Hut got a bit too feely?

Wait, I know, a prequel about Obi Wan!!! Yes, after the fall of the Republic Obi Wan took up drinking and gambling, had a family and then deserted them. In the end, a strange and powerful woman shows up to remind him of his duty.

Similar to Dr Who fandom now. At a con I attended in February, one of the series bigwigs told those of us who have a problem with casting a female as the doctor to “get over it”. In the last few years they’ve had a Master change into a Mistress, one gay (or at least bi) male character, and three lesbians. I predict The Doctor will never be a white male again.

From what I'm seeing, Rian Johnson's new trilogy is out and the ones by 'Game of Thrones' creators are in.

"The chick, she just got it by magically touching a lightsaber."

It wasn't a light saber she touched, that allowed her to master the force.

I like your analysis though, truly spot on. They literally trashed the franchise and now turn to trashing the fan base.

Yeah. The fact that The Last Jedi scored 91% on Rotten Tomatoes with professional (i.e., leftist) film critics, but only 47% with audiences, should have been a big clue that the shark has jumped for Star Wars.

When Rian Johnson had Luke Skywalker non-chalantly toss his light sabre over his shoulder into the ocean in the very first scene is when I had realized that Johnson was giving a big FU to the franchise. Small wonder that Mark Hamill had griped about the film to the point Disney had to muzzle him.

What amazes me is that Disney let Rian Johnson wreck the franchise so thoroughly that there is nothing left going forward, where Kylo and General Hux are so laughable as antagonists that it leaves JJ Abrams screwed for the third film.
