Aviva Drescher, who starred on Seasons 5 and 6 of Real Housewives of New York, said the shows production team could sometimes go too far with their eagerness to liquor up the cast.
She recalled the time a producer phoned ahead of filming and asked her to take a shot of alcohol with castmate Ramona Singer during a reconciliation scene at a restaurant.
I told the head producer, I dont want to do a shot. Can you just fill it with water? said Drescher, 47, who grew up with an alcoholic mother and says she had never taken a shot before. And they said no.
I was so weak and so intimidated by the production team, and I had just gone through all the negotiations of my contract for the second season and those were demoralizing, she said. I took the shot. I felt tremendous pressure to do it.
Shes hardly the only Housewives star who has had a problem with the alcohol served while filming.
On a May 9 episode of Bravos RHONY, Dorinda Medley showed up to dinner seemingly wasted, slurring her words and picking a fight with the Puerto Rico hurricane-relief team she was dining with in Miami....

Once upon a time, women were demure and lady-like and minded their reputation. Of course, if a woman of that era wanted to take a shot, she would. Many did. But if a woman chose not to, she would explain to the unchivalrous man that he was rude and uncouth and that she would do no such thing. And that was the end of it. Or, if it wasn’t, a man would be found to serve as a guardian. A husband, father or brother who valued her and would protect her against cads.
But, since the dawning of Feminism, women are focused on their work in the marketplace. They reject the idea of anyone being their “protector”. They are on their own, and proudly so. And if their boss demands that they take a shot, well, what option to they have? They must, of course, do as the big strong man says. They have so much to lose. Standing on principle would be foolish indeed. Just do as you’re told Little Lady. You’re so liberated: take the shot and shut up.
I, like Trump, am a teetotaler.
In college, which for me ended over a decade ago, there was a lot of coercion to drink.
I never did, however, I remember how unpleasant the coercion was.
Bull. These sad pathetic women are so eager to be on tv. They could have said no.
That is pretty much what happens in Muslim countries. Do you want to undo the freedoms of the liberated western woman?
With freedom comes responsibility. If they like their freedoms, then learn to take care of themselves. If they want a protector, then the protector gets the right to stop them from doing stupid things.
Muslim countries do a lot of things wrong. They treat women very badly in many ways. No rights, beatings, burkhas, it’s a long list of abuses.
Respecting and protecting women from abuse is not truly something I associate with Islam. It is something I associate with America prior to Feminism. It is something I think we should return to.
Bravo is a faggot run enterprise thats depicts women acting as bitches for money
Its sad they do it
Its sad the women are just naturally that way
Its sad we watch it
Women love fags
They enabled the rise of poofterism
Fags do not love women
Except mommy
They covet femininity yet cry foul when their non masculinity is noted
Venerating faggotry is a hallmark of civilizational deterioration same as cannibalism and human sacrifice
“Do you want to undo the freedoms of the liberated western woman?”
Yeah, somewhat. I think it’s better when husband, father, or son steps up to defend the women in their world. Do you think they should just say “She’s liberated, so good luck”?
And yeah, I want to undo them being in the Infantry, Special forces, Marines, and being Fighter pilots too.
Oh, and I almost forgot, chick astronauts should have to wear a hair tie and not let it frizz out wild in space. It screws up the photos and probably gets into the switches and electronics.
