8 Awesome Cult Classics
PJ Media ^ | 13 June 2018 | Lauren Spagnoletti

Good (and bad) movies come and go, but some films garner such a fierce, loyal following that they reach cult status. People watch them over and over and over again. They host parties to watch them some more. Midnight showings at movie theaters draw incredible crowds, and oftentimes, fans "act out" the scenes in front of the screen.

Actors who happened to have been in cult movies enjoy lifetimes of stardom (to one extent or another) and can probably make a living signing autographs at events and Comic-Con ad nauseam.

Are you a huge fan of any cult classic? Here are some favorites below. Weigh in with the ones you can't get enough of!

I think it was Jonathan Haze aka Seymour. It was Nickleson’s first screen credit. He came in the shop at the beginning.

By that criteria I would add The Duelists, an early Ridley Scott effort. Keith Carradine and Harvey Keitel in several intense Napoleonic era sword fights.

Valley of the Dolls is a trash classic, especially a way-over-the top Susan Hayward. Great fun, I hope you enjoy it!!

That’s hilarious! Chucky has probably been called a little *unt many times, and not in a good way.

The top ones -
Galaxy Quest (the film that made me an Alan Rickman fan)
Day the Earth Stood Still
Doctor Who (only the MALE Doctors)
Time Machine with Rod Taylor
War of the Worlds with Gene Barry
Twilight Zone the original
Die Hard (Rickman again)
Severus Snape from Harry Potter (not so much the whole films)

Rocky Horror (last year when the cast was appearing in Dallas, Alamo Drafthouse movie theatre representatives told them and the audience including me that the new Drafthouse in Denton Texas would be decorated in a Rocky Horror theme - because the film takes place in “Denton, the Home of Happiness”).

I had a group of friends back in the 80’s that always hung in the loft of a barn that had a huge projection TV up there.
Every time i visited or went to a party there Repo Man seemed to be always playing on the TV.
My buddy Brian can recite the movie word for word....he should he probably watched it a 100 time.
But yea Repo Man was a great flick

The man is a moron. He needs to get out of his little bubble. My total New Yorkese mother used that expression correctly!

Yep. Napoleon Dynamite has to be one of the oddest movies I’ve ever seen, and I can’t explain why, but I love it.
