8 Awesome Cult Classics
PJ Media ^ | 13 June 2018 | Lauren Spagnoletti

Good (and bad) movies come and go, but some films garner such a fierce, loyal following that they reach cult status. People watch them over and over and over again. They host parties to watch them some more. Midnight showings at movie theaters draw incredible crowds, and oftentimes, fans "act out" the scenes in front of the screen.

Actors who happened to have been in cult movies enjoy lifetimes of stardom (to one extent or another) and can probably make a living signing autographs at events and Comic-Con ad nauseam.

Are you a huge fan of any cult classic? Here are some favorites below. Weigh in with the ones you can't get enough of!

Definitely blasphemy. My vote is for Army of Darkness. "Shop smart!"

Yep, that's the best of the "Evil Dead" franchise. I'd also include as an obvious cult-film, the 1978 update of George A. Romero's zombie genre, Dawn of the Dead. It was frequently run as a "midnight movie" back in the early '80s. It pulled that genre out of the black-and-white past and into vivid, gory color.

And who could forget the "Helicopter Zombie"? Any scene that could provide a then-unknown and uncredited actor with a lifetime of convention fame - that has gotta be a cult film.

Fandango.

Yep, possibly Costner's best work. It definitely belongs on the list.

I saw the original when I was a little kid. Got so scared, I swallowed my candy money.
