That is a great graphic and it does an excellent job of putting this volcano into the proper perspective.
I love the big island of Hawaii and I may still live there someday after I retire. It is a massive island though. The landscape varies from rain forest to almost a desert environment. Parts of the island look like the ranchlands of Texas. People don't realize how big it is until they've been on it. The volcano we are discussing here is but a speck. 99% of the population is unaffected.
