I love the big island of Hawaii and I may still live there someday after I retire. It is a massive island though. The landscape varies from rain forest to almost a desert environment. Parts of the island look like the ranchlands of Texas. People don't realize how big it is until they've been on it. The volcano we are discussing here is but a speck. 99% of the population is unaffected.
Build on a volcano and this just might happen. It’s just like building on a fault line.
It is a beautiful place. Actually took a helicopter ride down into the crater that is now erupting. There were acres of what were once cane fields cover in black lava rock. And so it will be again. Paradise
