I find that interesting. Always hated the gold fringe.
The "gold fringe" is a ceremonial flag.
Could be wrong, but without fringe= constitutional US flag, with fringe=military flag

As I understand it, there has been a controversy in the patriot community for many years, with the case being made that a gold fringed flag as seen in our courts is an admiralty flag, thus signifying we are under martial law.

Perhaps DJT is aware of the controversy and wants to assure Patriots who hold that belief, that this event was in no way under the admiralty designation. Just a thought. Really I have no idea why they were not fringed in NK, and were fringed in Canada.
Maybe he made a great deal from a flag factory for some non-fringed flags!
