I used Brave for a couple of weeks recently to try it out. I was checking it out to see if it was something I could recommend to friends who do not know how to use security extensions.

It worked OK until it came time to have it update itself. After flogging my internet connection for literally 10 times the amount of time that any other browser takes for an update I got worried, killed it with the Windows process manager and uninstalled it.

Updating Brave for me has been painless - it will announce that there’s an update available on a bar at the top and asks if you want to restart the browser now or later. I’ve been using it for over a year now and never had an update where it messes up an internet connection.
