The makers of Ambien don't want users to be worried about becoming racist, just because Roseanne Barr used their product as an excuse for her tweet about Valerie Jarrett on Tuesday.
"People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world," the company said in a statement to TheWrap Wednesday. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."

Are Ambien the Red Pill or the Blue Pill?
My husband said vulgar and very inappropriate while on Ambien and than had no memory if it.
Just another example of Misdirection: Familiar Leftist Tactic.
Demotwitterbots
“Ambien DOES cause weird behavior,”
Yes, indeed. I know that from personal experience. It’s especially bad mixed with alcohol and/or drugs. Roseanne should go into rehab and publicly announce it. That’s as much contrition as one could reasonably expect, and it could very well salvage her career (if she wants one any more; she’s 65 and maybe should just retire).
Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball
Oh for crying out loud.
So the manufacturers of medicine to treat mental illness will now engage in mocking their customers?
This is the stupidest example of poorly performed PR I can recall.
They essentially entered the culture war unnecessarily. And they picked the wrong side.
I have all that, and don’t take Ambien. ;)
Your post reminded me of something I saw last week. I was at a school. The students had no work to do, so I was told to find them a movie to watch via Netflix. I was trying to find a decent movie that all of the children had not seen 20 times, so I was mousing over each film. I don’t remember what movie it was, but there was a Weinstein produced film in the mix. If Roseanne shows are now all pulled from these services, why not all of Weinstein’s films?????????????????????????????
The local News says that Rosanne called Jarrett an Ape.
I must have missed that.
Let me see, what’s worse? Calling Jarret an Ape (which didn’t happen), or calling the POTUS “Hitler”?
That's a lot better than my story. My BIL took it; his wife found him sleepwalking in the kitchen, rummaging around the fridge. She shook him awake, and he had no idea of what he was doing or how he'd gotten there after going down a couple of flights of stairs.
If I had a superpower at this very moment I would want to cause the words “Islam isn’t a race and opposition to Islam isn’t racism.” to drift through the minds of every American.
They are escalating a story about the side effects of their drug that has a lot of serious side effects.
They normally hide this stuff in the fine print.
Politics IS a side effect.
ValJar really DOES make faces like Kim Hunter’s character in those movies. I am sure that is the thought that started all this.
But since ValJar is 1/2 African-American it becomes prima facie racism.
Rosie is clamming multiple personalities. Also can be a byproduct of mind control.
That stuff made me crazy. I only took it three times and threw it away.
Excellent point. The answer must because perceived racism is worse than possible (likely?) sexual assault.
