Failure to launch, yes. But also failure of his parents to launch their 30 year old child. Where’s Daddy? Watching porno with his boy in the basement? Parenting’s goal, after all, is to launch the kiddos out of the nest. The problem isn’t just the kid. The problem encompasses the whole dysfunctional family
If this were my kid, other than feeling total shame at having raised such a fool, I would sooner piss on and burn my estate than leave him an inheritance. I can’t even imagine the gall to be thirty and refusing to talk to his parents in their own home in addition to all that other disrespect.
This is the sort of person who needs to be watched a lot.
This is not a lazy person, or a person who needs a kick in the butt, this is a person who is mentally, emotionally unable somehow to function in the world. He is going to have a very rough next forty years and is liable to go truly nuts at some point. His parents may have done a bad job, but maybe not. He may just be a klunk.
Either way, do not sell this guy an AR-15.
I agree — something tells me the parents enabled this behavior over the years by catering to him from every angle.

I just evicted my youngest son a few weeks ago, after 6 months of him screwing atound, smoking dope (like I couldn't tell, heh), quitting or getting fired from 4 jobs, and playing video games. I made it clear that if he wasn't gone by the beginning of May, I would have a deputy drag him out and bring along a drug dog for good measure to go over his room and walk past his car.
This was his third and last chance to come home to get sorted out. May seem like a heavy-handed approach, but I'm no longer in a condition to go for a roll in the dirt with a 6'1" 250lb baby huey that said he wanted to beat me down.
Why am I saying all this? I woke up an hour ago with heartburn and I'm still waiting for the antacids to work....lol.
I don’t think this is unusual. As parents get elderly they don’t stand up to their children and get stuck in situations. I know of two similar sad situations.
Empty all of his accommodations/furniture/clothing and put locks on the bathrooms and the fridge w/o giving him the combinations.
Just walk around naked all the time. They’ll move out.

He had two stable parents, - clearly he always had psychological problems, which were not identified as such or treated. How many parents ever acknowledge they have ‘crazy’ kids until it’s too late?
When I was his age I owned my own home had a monthly mortgage payment. I had a child with another soon to come. I had a responsible job, I had peole reporting to me at work. I had two cars, an IRA and depended on nobody.
Little snowflake probably reports his parents to child protective services and voted Democrat all his life.
