BOSTON (CBS) – Celtics legend Bill Russell was rushed to a Washington state hospital Friday night after a scare he says resulted in him not drinking enough water.

TMZ first reported that Russell was taken by ambulance from his Seattle-area home. His condition was not known at the time.

But a short time later, Russell himself tweeted that he was on his way home from the hospital.

I remember the SNL skit he did - a reverse "White Shadow" where he was a troubled black HS basketball coach and his white students tried to help him stay straight.
His punch line was: "is it because I'm black"? - a hilarious skit (back when SNL still had talented writers).

Beats the alternative. Wilt Chamberlain btw died in 1999 at the age of 63.

I suspect it was more than dehydration. Electrolyte imbalance (simply; not enough Gatorade) is another factor. My late father was almost sent to the "psych" ward because his electrolytes were almost depleted by medication.
