HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman is suing United Airlines, claiming she was kicked off a flight out of Houston because someone complained that she had a "pungent odor."
The mother and her children were on a flight to San Francisco in 2016.
The suit says a man in business class told the flight crew that she smelled, and he was not comfortable flying next to her.
According to the lawsuit, the woman, who is Nigerian, believes she was booted because of her race.
She and her children were put on another flight five hours later. United has not commented on this lawsuit.

I worked with a woman once who had such a terrible body odor it would make you gag if you got even remotely close to her. management finally had to speak with her as they got so many complaints.
If some smells ‘rank’ there’s good reason to ask them to leave a plane....who wants to clean up the vomit when it’s so bad people gag?
Just because many are Christian and they are being persecuted, does not erase the fact it is a poor country with few resources to spend on niceties like soap and water - or GOOD water (that’s a huge effort by do-gooder libs, to get good water to these poor places without changing the source of the problem - like “give a fish” vs. “teach to fish”). Never mind the background culture that often leads to that.
My mother has a dear wonderful Christian friend from teaching who is from Nigeria. Should I say, ESCAPED from Nigeria. And who had family there also trying to escape. A brother who was in government trying to escape the corruption going on. He himself, married a lovely white woman from here (Johns Hopkins nurse, who had met Ben Carson - never mind my mom did too). Has 2 incredibly gifted sons (like geniuses at music), one in the Air Force now and the other an engineer trying to get a job at my husband’s company.
We’re not all ignorant (albeit sometimes all it takes is common sense). And this man’d be the last to tell you it’s a great place.
Well, at least THAT vomitus is not infectious!

Last I heard this is cultural appropriation of white culture. Yes, it is. But smelling bad is from a culture few of us here want to appropriate.
It can happen anywhere. When I was stationed in Germany, our landlords lived upstairs. They watched our son occasionally when he was a baby and one afternoon I went to get him. Johanna said he was in their room. I went to get him, and he was tucked under a down comforter—I’ve smelled nicer pig pens. Thought I was going to puke. LOL

People from India can have an odor....I think it has to do with the heavy spices they use in their cooking...it clings to their clothes as well...
I knew an Italian guy who loved garlic but laughed as he said he had to be careful because too much and he would sweat it! LOLOL

I knew someone who had no sense of smell at all. It was because some ENT doc was cauterizing his nose and forgot to take out the swab with the silver nitrate. He never had a sense of smell again.

I believe this woman from India had feminine hygiene issues. Others I worked with thought the same. It was really bad.

You obviously haven’t experienced the gamut of how bad some folks can smell...sit next to some of them and it takes several washings to get the smell out of your clothes....
