President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani sought Friday to clean up a series of comments he had made about a settlement with an adult-film actress who had an alleged relationship with Trump, backtracking on his previous assertions about what the president knew and why the payment was made.
The cautious wording of the written statement released by Giuliani stood in sharp contrast to his previous two days of wide-ranging television and print interviews in which, according to legal experts, he exposed his client to greater legal risks and might have compromised his own attorney-client privilege with the president...
..Trump told reporters Friday that Giuliani, who joined the legal team April 19, "just started a day ago" and is "learning the subject matter." "He knows it's a witch hunt," the president added. "He'll get his facts straight."...
..."The first rule is to shut up, which he is unable to do," said Stephen Gillers, a law professor at New York University. "False exculpatory statements often come back to bite."
"Giuliani's barrage harmed his client," he added. "He waived the privilege for communications with Trump on the subject of his public statements."
One close Trump adviser agreed, saying Giuliani had "waived the privilege, big time" with his public descriptions of his conversations with the president...

Evidently that is what Michael Savage said on his website.
Because with consolences to the wife and kid, this makes Trump look good. First because it probably isn't true, too little money, and zero evidence presented. It's no different from some slip and fall jerk in the lobby of his building except with the added personal accusation. Second, because pursuing such a triviality makes Mueller look like a bitch hunter and makes the media look like biased ignoramuses. That's a lot of wins and Melania will just have to explain it to the kid.
Agree about Rudi. But Trump ought to restrain himself as well. Most people, knowing his carnal history, do not doubt that he had a fling with the porn star shortly after his wife gave birth. Some still find such behavior immoral and repulsive. However as demonstrated by Bill Clinton and Trump’s prior public foolishness, it does not seem to damage a politician long term. Trump could put an end to this by having Giuliani ( no model of moral virtue himself) get out a simple message. Yes Mr. Trump as a private citizen had a relationship with Stormy Daniels. When he decided to run for President he for political purposes and personal reasons did not want her to publicly discuss the details of this relationship. A legal non disclosure agreement was agreed and she was paid. Mr. Trump had hoped to protect his campaign and further disruptions to his family. Such a statement will take the wind out of this crisis and the public will behave as it has in the past.
Trump ran several worldwide corporations. All large corporations routinely settle for small amounts versus the hassle and cost of court. Stormy Daniels was completely false but it’s not worth the hassle and expense of a trial. Cohen ran a firm that made these decisions. That’s it.
Exactly.
A hireling, nothing more.
Rudy was brilliant!! No campaign finance violation!!! Awesome representation!! Rudy for recess appointment AG !!
Every anti-Trump article or comment needs to be scrutinized for 3 elements:
1. What was misreported or only partially/selectively reported or fabricated?
2. What was spun, twisted, manipulated?
3. What was omitted or ignored?
Face it: Trump got a BJ from a slut 12 years ago ergo he must be destroyed.

Not following you here. Please explain.
Trump doesn't need this. Trump needs smart, savvy counsel.
Hannity didn’t need to air all the interview. THE PROGRAM IS NOT LIVE. It’s post producer. He’s as much to blame.

Yo, Rudy! Stop digging. You’ve done enough damage. Either shut up or point out the millions of dollars taxpayers have paid to cover up similar cases involving sitting members of Congress.
It has everyone talking about their favorite subject, the porn actress, and neglecting the rest of this long interview where Rudy did most of the talking. He went over the possible scenarios with a fine comb (pardon the double metaphor) and showed that he knows just what he’s doing, and what he will do in all the possible eventualities.
He made some excellent remarks on the fine points (aside from the general case of unfairness in comparison with other similar situations).
Media ignoring it because it shows what Mueller is now up against.
Yup. The PR value of the interview as a whole far outweighs one statement that Rudy certainly prepared in advance. Everybody having a ball with this one. Don’t forget the liberal press dislikes Rudy a bit too. Let Mueller try to outwit this presentation.
Rudy goes to the media for everything......his then-wife, Donna Hanover, heard she was getting divorced when Rudy announced it at a press conference.
Seriously?
Rudy is pumped, and he hit a foul ball... BFD.
