Late Monday night, the White House showed off the finishing touches of first lady Melania Trump's first state dinner, as she and President Trump will host French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife at the executive mansion tomorrow.
Reporters were briefly allowed into the White House and were greeted by gold table settings, gold silverware, gold candlesticks, gold wine glasses, gold chairs – situated elegantly around puffs of green and white flowers – in the candlelit state dining room.
At each of the 130 place settings there was a menu, with the White House seal and the fleur-de-lis, which were also in gold.
Just outside the state dining room, the first lady went with a different theme, using some 1,200 cherry blossoms in giant black vases that would greet guests as they came in.

As it has already been stated, compared Pres. Trumps’ homes, the White House is much less lavishly adorned. This is his temporary home, why not act like it Jackie O did!

The Moooooch would have needed a staff of 40 people for that task and not contributed a single thing or suggestion. Ghetto trash wouldn’t have a clue of where to start. We are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lucky the odumbo’s are no longer “squatters” in the WH.
If any of the Democrat leadership is invited, I’d advise the First Lady to count the utensils and dinnerware before they leave.
I love Melania and totally get her role in this.
But those dishes are indeed garish.
It does fit entirely with the working-joe-who-made-it style that made Trump president.
Her outfit! The fit/tailoring is perfection.
I never would’ve thought that color of shoes would work with white but they do..bold choice & that hat!

That room is totally beautiful I am very proud of the Trump’s for making America Great. Melania probably knows what makes her guests happy and she respects them.

The only other women I enjoyed looking at was Palin when she was running she had nice clothes but nothing compared to Melania. I say this because I’m a female. :0)
OK. Does not approach the typical French ambience of say that ol palace at Versailles. You want to see gold—go there or St Petersburg. No wonder the Russians were always poor peasants—the wealth is stunning in the museums and palaces of the utopian state. Gold just flows high and low.
Did I hear correctly that NO Democrat congress critters were invited to this dinner? Please tell me that that is correct.
