Footage of police arresting a woman at a Saraland, Alabama, Waffle House shows authorities threatening to break her arm after tackling her to the floor. Chikesia Clemons, who reportedly refused to pay a 50-cent charge on her bill (for plastic utensils), is claiming that excessive force was used and is facing charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

I’m assuming she threw a fit. If they tried to charge me for the plastic utensils, I’d tell them they could keep their food, and I’d walk out. For the atmosphere, their food’s kind of high.
See my post #77 about introducing my college age daughter to Waffle House. And to agree with another poster, their hash brown potatoes are great, either alone or with cheese, sausage gravey or the other items you can add to them.
Yet another case of non-compliance escalating a situation when it doesn’t have too. Had she complied more than likely detained and then released after issue was sorted out. Another example of the culture, especially black culture challenging any authority and thinking the rules do not apply to them. This is getting people hurt and killed all for their arm slinging, foot stomping, profanity laced brat like fits. It all goes back to the destruction of the family unit.
God help them if they tried this in the 1950’s, 60’s or 70’s era police officers they would have their heads broke fairly quickly for this behavior. I am not saying its right, but it would be the case.
Sounds like Steak and Shake. They “butter” their toast with grill grease. Of course, cracker barrel pours about 1/4 cup of grease on their food before it gets to the table. Have to watch what you order there.
I used to love their food but when I retired I started eating healthy to lose weight and lower my cholesterol. After two years of not eating bacon or anything fried the greasy food didn’t taste as good anymore. I love gravy and biscuits, country ham, and all the good southern food but I can’t deal with the grease anymore. I love cheesy eggs BTW but can’t eat them anymore either. Denny’s affects me the same way. If I eat at either one of those I taste grease for 24 hours after eating.
It is still a mystery to me why people like this simply do not comply with orders given them by police officers. Just do what they say. But no. Scream, kick, punch, scream some more, use profanity to get the cops in a really good mood.
The can of Golden Griddle sits right on the hot grill to keep it liquid. There is a small soup ladle in the can. Every order of anything they cook gets a full ladle full of the golden artery clogging goodness. A few times a year isn’t gonna kill ya.
I saw a poster in a McDonald’s drive up window once. It instructed the help to not give condiments unless specifically asked for, and then just give one of each, unless the customer specifically asks for a certain amount. Some McDonald’s franchisees are notoriously tight, though. They’re all millionaires. Most kids at drive up windows hand you a wistful of whatever you request.
But speaking to the situation in the article, unless she got REALLY abusive with the help, I think the whole thing was overkill, with a bit of discrimination thrown in. What? A customer’s not allowed to complain, or get mad without being arrested? I mean UNLESS...

When I explain that cops are not judges and your guilt or innocence is not determined by them, but by a judge, they get angry. He'll bent on bad outcome is the entire group.
I guess they are full of entitlement or really stupid.
I forget the name of the Restaurant in Texas. But my Mother In Law once ordered "Chicken Fried Steak Meat Loaf". But before deciding on that, she had to review what it was with the waitress for about 5 minutes. I couldn't hear the whole conversation, but I did hear, "Is it greasy?" I wanted to yell out, "Is it fit for human consumption without a doctor's note?!!"

And I find this quite hypocritical of her, seeing as she spent eight years lecturing everyone on how to eat healthy.

I miss the Shenandoah Valley! My brother stopped there yesterday after visiting DC and made it a point to call me. Actually he wondered if I remembered the school Mom taught in when we lived up there. They were the old Wenonah Elementary School which had been the old Basic City High School Building and Westwood Hill Elementary School were the schools.
Totally agree with you. I would not be surprised that the lady escalated and that is always going to result in bad things happening. Over .50 cents though. Shaking head. Just unreal. And if any resturant charged me for utensils they would lose my business.
