The National Rifle Association is targeting YETI after the Texas-based maker of high-dollar cups and coolers dropped its sponsorship of the Friends of NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction events around the country, according to an alert issued by NRA Florida lobbyist Marion Hammer today. The YETI coolers have been a hot item for sportsmen at the events for years, according to Hammers alert.
Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isnt sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping Americas young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy outdoor recreational and educational programs, the alert reads. In this day and age, information is power. We thought you needed this information.
The NRA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization, according to the alert, which also includes a link to YETIs online contact service/.
Harley Davidson engines are made in Taiwan and only assembled in USA
No more YETI products in this home. For gifting, or received as gifts. I’m notifying the family.
Aspiring to commercially designated stereotypes has somewhat replaced religious piety in many people’s ‘personal development’.
“Nobody can justify a $600 ice chest”....
Unless you plan to be buried in one. Cheaper than a casket anyway.
Think about the number of times you would have need for a $600 cooler. Save your money.
Wonder if the NCAA has anything to do with decision...
The NCAA is tied at the hip to NFL/NBA (and by association, BLM/CAIR/etc). There are no coincidences at the boardroom level...
Interesting question.
are you kidding? 800 bux for a cooler? I know a kid who does not have 2 nickels to rub together and he is a huge YETI fan. Now i know why he is so broke.
NASCAR announces new YETI official partnership and licensing agreement
Does NASCAR have anything to do with this...?
Do a Yeti hack on an existing cooler by making a slip-cover of reflective RV windshield material and lining the inside of the cooler with 1/4” construction foam board.
It’ll keep ice 4-5 days in the summer.
“They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation.”
Really?
So, if an NRA Foundation member goes to the local sports store to buy 20 Yeti coolers for an event, there’s gonna be a Yeti rent-a-cop standing at the display blocking the purchase?
“Sir, if you reach for a cooler, I’m gonna have to slap your hand.”
There’s got to be some kind of quid pro quo involved. Threats, bribes, both. And not just with Yeti.
Maybe the coolers will get cheaper from lack of demand.
Yeti has a custom shop. Yeti may be refusing to do/allow custom work for the NRA.
Has NASCAR said that it has a problem with the NRA sponsorship of Bristol Monster race?
Community corporate organizing.
Not just corporate. I’d be looking at government actors, too.
Naw. I need a semi portable unit. Ill see what they have in costco.
Probably a Coleman. (Unless they are self destructively anti gun too)
If RTI coolers was smart, they’ed be on the NRA Foundation’s doorstep Monday morning...offering a partnership.
From last month. Take note of the wording.
We have many. So we tested the $30. yeti tumbler against the $9. tumblers. Same ice in each, filled with water, and left alone. The ice lasted the same amount of time. Yeti ain’t better.
