The National Rifle Association is targeting YETI after the Texas-based maker of high-dollar cups and coolers dropped its sponsorship of the Friends of NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction events around the country, according to an alert issued by NRA Florida lobbyist Marion Hammer today. The YETI coolers have been a hot item for sportsmen at the events for years, according to Hammers alert.
Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isnt sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping Americas young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy outdoor recreational and educational programs, the alert reads. In this day and age, information is power. We thought you needed this information.
The NRA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization, according to the alert, which also includes a link to YETIs online contact service/.
Ditto.
Wow, what a colossal, dumb-ass mistake. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder...
Over-priced crap. Good riddance!
Right....poor marketing choice by Yeti....
Time to remind the manager at the local hardware store that Yeti is a mark-down clearance item.
Ban them from gun shows.
> Texas-based maker of high-dollar cups and coolers <
That statement is a bit misleading. Many YETI products are made overseas. I first noticed that when looking at some of their stuff at a sporting goods store. From their website:
WHERE ARE YETI PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED?
Our Tundra coolers are manufactured in the USA at facilities located in Minnesota and Wisconsin as well as at a facility located in the Philippines. Our Hopper coolers, Panga duffels, and Rambler drinkware are manufactured in China. The LoadOut 5 gallon bucket is manufactured in South Carolina.
Even country boys will sometimes buy something for its snob appeal.
There are alternatives to Yeti...

Post your comment then share it with as many as possible.
I told them to shove it where the sun dont shine.
Buc-EES has a yeti knock off brand that is a direct copy for less. But really, who needs a cooler that will keep ice for a couple of days? This is not the 1890s, and ice is cheap. $800 cooler? Give me a styrofoam cooler and a case of beer plus ice and I put the $770 back in my pocket.
Shame on YETI.
We USED to buy several coolers/year for our company giveaways. NO MORE!!
Here is alternative, to YETI. Not sure if these guys support/don’t support NRA, will have to try to find out. They’re a less expensive/just as good product, though....
Any biz journos worth the job description ought to be looking into whether the companies boycotting/dumping the NRA are getting something in return for doing it.
Government contracts, tax breaks, etc.
I doubt they’re doing this for free.
"Harley-Davidson: a marketing firm with a motorcycle division they'd close down if they could."
Around here, it is ag equipment. Guys - hell, whole families - plighting their troth to some multinational corporation they think has a soul.
See my post #31, for the brand that Buc-ees carries. We were just there, last weekend. They had a ton of ‘em :)
Let them hear from us. I did. Lifetime NRA member.
When you buy YETI, youre buying into their marketing hoopla. Everyone has to have the YETI caps and window stickers.
“Dipshits....nothing like screwing around with your largest customer base.”......
Agreed. YETO does make a good cooler and their coolers are way, way over priced. I have been hunting and fishing for many, many years WITHOUT a YETI cooler and have done very well without one. It’s their choice to drive customers away, let them suffer the downfall without our help.
Yeti also does a line of licensed NCAA coolers.
Wonder if the NCAA has anything to do with decision...
Thanks
Pelican makes good stuff, and there are others as well.
