Sleep well, mairdie!
I had a ladder accident. You know those guys on the radio selling gutter cleaning by striking fear into you about the accidents that could happen if you do it yourself?
Maybe they are correct!
But I wasnt cleaning my gutters - I was using Great Stuff to close the gaps under my roof to keep the critters out.
I was hurrying down the ladder because it was getting dark.
Hard lesson learned!
You are lucky! The LD 50 for falling is 8 feet!
I have of late been thrashing my distaste for heights by climbing up rickety scaffolds to inspect structural masonry. To add to the absurd they usually have hoisted 2 or 3 tons of freakin block up on them before I get there. I TOTALLY didnt even think of the issue when I got the certification...ARF!
I’d laugh but it would make me cry. I’m so very sorry. The worst part is I bet you were alone in the house if your daughters are grown and on their own. You had to deal with the pain and all and get help without any backup. If I didn’t have husband, I’d be tempted to a LIFELOCK, or some such.
Ladders are so very dangerous.... and so very helpful!
I very often remind Darlin’ when getting ready to go up one of those, “NO STUPID LADDER TRICKS!!”
Sorry your ladder played a terrible trick on you.
We had the roof reworked so we wouldn’t have to continually get up there to sweep off debris. Wouldn’t you know, one of the roofer guys fell off.
