Cameras warming up...are they still on 60's era vacuum tube technology...

Even modern equipment may require some time to reach a stable temperature. 20 to 30 min. seems reasonable.

Yes, vacuum tube tech. Vidicon tubes were used in the cameras to pickup and generate images seen through the camera lens. On the other end of the system was the CRT...cathode ray tube that “painted” the image we watched on our 200# sets.

Vidicons were used into the 1980s.
