Rudy will effectively be a private lawyer working for Trump. All lawyers have the power of subpoena, but that power is limited to open cases they are involved in. That power won't help him in negotiating with Mueller.

However, isn't it logical that his knowledge of Mueller can serve him and POTUS well in negotiating the complex minefield Mueller and his team represent in the current context?

He may also know stuff about Mueller that can be used as leverage--carefully, cautiously, legally.

Personally, I still think Mueller needs charged with everything he's been guilty of for a long time as well as his more recent Klintoon and oligarchy supporting acts.
