Captured the links to the weaponized rabies stories. Had some thoughts during that process.

Without having read them, while I know that wild life is subject to the disease, it is domestic animals like dogs, who have the closest proximity to the targets: US - as in, you and me.

In my mind that translated to the immediate thought of how to protect against it, and of course, “shoot all dogs” occurs to me.

Well duh. Mooslims HATE dogs.

I think that makes me more angry than anything.

If I’m reading it correctly, the typical vaccinations aren’t any good against the new strains. I hate the thought that people actually create stuff like this.

In my township, we are required to have our dogs vaccinated against rabies. How many dogs, domesticated or feral, could there be in a Moslem country? Might be why they chose rabies: lack of vaccines.

One of the biggest rabies vectors out here is bats. Raccoons, squirrels and skunks, too. No idea of indigenous wildlife in Syria.

Ok, checked:

Lots of bats, wild dogs, foxes and wolves, weasels, hamsters, squirrels, gerbils. Plenty of vectors to infect with airborne dispersal, besides people.
