And if they can detect It’s a really tiny magnetic field. It’s about 2-2.5 nanotesla at satellite altitude, which is about 20,000 times weaker than the Earth’s global magnetic field..

I’m guessing the ocean currents have a direct impact in fluctuations in this field and the interaction between this one, the stronger field, and charged particles in the sky have a direct impact in weather generation. Cool stuff.
