That it has taken so long to tell this story on film is an indictment of the cynical politics of Hollywood.

Far more than just an indictment of Hollywood. Millions of people, both sides of the aisle in Washington, and most of the media share in that shameful indictment.

JFK was having an affair with a Communist agent.

The story was about to break.

This was the early 1960s, and people loved Jackie Kennedy.

It would kill the Democrat Party.

So JFK was killed to save the Party.

when Edward ["Dead"] Kennedy (Jason Clarke) drives off a bridge and into the water...

No. Not this movie, nor the facts, support "Dead" being in the car at this point.

Howie Carr,a well known Boston talk show host and columnist, has interviewed the scuba diver who retrieved Mary Jo's body. That diver said that, given what he found,he believes that she would have lived for at least an hour after entering the water...and maybe longer.

Myth? Yah...pull the other one,it's got bells on!

The problem with this movie is that it's set almost 50 years ago.

It should have been made in 1970, and it should have been a documentary.

If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age,” wrote the Globe’s Charles Pierce.

I saw this movie yesterday. Well made. Jason Clarke deserves an Oscar nomination for his skilled portrayal of Ted Kennedy.

Ted is portrayed rather sympathetically as an dim witted, immoral man trapped in an evil family dynasty. His cousin Joe Gargan is seen as a victim. Bruce Dern is truly frightening as old Joe Kennedy.
