Obama can pick him and then after they see the REAL PERSON (Obama)their eyes open and he is now our ASSET? Maybe too, the powers Obama and Hillary HAD don’t exist anymore?
Huber had been in that office since 2002, as prosecutor, just not "top dog, US Attorney appointed by president." Likely his appointment by Obama was perfunctory, maybe a sop to Utah senators. No risk ot Obama, nothing going on in Utah, middle of flyover country, etc.
I doubt Trump dug him up - he has his hands full with other matters. It is interesting to study the feedback loops used to float candidates. Names you have never heard of are the hiring committee.
I read that normally all fed prosectors ressign with a new president, so he can appoint ones he wants. Preet Bharara did not resign and was po’ed that Trump fired him.
Huber did not resign for some reason that was benign but I can’t remember now, and Trump fired him, and then hired him back. Why, I do not know. Supposition - found out he was a good man, so re-hired him?
From what I have read, Huber tendered his resignation as is custom with a change in President, but Pres Trump did not accept it. Sessions then renominated Huber and Pres Trump submitted to Senate for approval.
I believe Huber tendered his resignation and Trump accepted. That is a normal thing to do. Sessions asked Trump for his re-appointment.
The resignation and reappointment was meant to erase the Obama stigma/stench from Huber.
