Beware of the Media-Industrial Complex
(Vanity) | 27 March 2018 | areukiddingme1

A formidable union of progressive leftists and the media would be far more concerning to President Dwight Eisenhower today than his concern about the military back on January 17th, 1961, today his speech would go more something like this; "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the media-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist." We must take great care to preserve and protect the magnificent government that was handed over to us generation by generation since it was fought so hard to obtain and maintain.

I believe what President Eisenhower saw as a threat to his country was the creation of a "full time war," and in reality, no one, not even the defense department wants to be waging war perpetually. However, defending a nation that is present everywhere, requires an exquisite and capable fighting force able to project power and maintain peace at all times without interruption.

What President Eisenhower had no way of envisioning is in his statement, "we must learn how to compose differences not with arms, but with intellect and decent purpose," was that arms would be replaced with insults, slurs, impugned integrity all without decent purpose." Mere allegation, innuendo, and outright lies would replace decent purpose, President Eisenhower had no way of knowing that it would be the media that would set about to compose the differences between Americans and their Patriotism...There is no way for President Eisenhower to have known that someday there would be news/fake news 24 hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year committed to re-writing American history and the sacrifices made by the men that fought to give us this great nation.

A Media-Industrial Complex falling further and further away from simply "reporting the news" and aiding in making democracy work, to a Media-Industrial Complex dividing and polarizing the viewing public -- Get people to shout at each other, keep "We, the people" divided and pitted against one another, stir up vitriolic hatred for your fellowman and create deep long divisions between those that stand for the "old version of America, America the beautiful and what made America great." The progressive leftist Media-Industrial Complex literally spends billions of dollars arguing against morals, values, and decency in favor of ridiculous notions that there are more than two sexes, that standing for the National Anthem is passé, that defending freedom and democracy and the miracle of the American way of life is flawed and the founding fathers were wrong for including such things as The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution which clearly protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms and was adopted on December 15, 1791, as part of the first ten amendments contained in the Bill of Rights. To use a phrase from the left, 1791 sort of makes the Second Amendment "settled law" for the last 227 years, yes!

The Media-Industrial Complex, along with the progressive liberal agenda being taught today in our public schools turns out uneducated, easily manipulated, ill prepared young men and women on society, well-groomed to be easily persuaded to "fight to give away rights." WoW, what a First World problem to have and to want to fight for, "to give away rights, that others would fight and die to try and gain."

Given the Hollywood and media's incessant portrayal of girly men as the ideal man and the constant barrage of insults to American Patriotism, the police, and the traditional family they have exposed themselves to be the true establishment that America should beware of -- I believe that if President Eisenhower were alive today, he would agree that it is the Media-Industrial Complex that is far more dangerous than the military as he suggested in 1961.

If only a few billionaire conservatives would buy NBC and make it great. We need some truth out there.

The inspiration came to me while I was riding around in the truck the other day and Merle Haggard came on;

“I read about some squirrelly guy
Who claims that he just don’t believe in fightin’
And I wonder just how long
The rest of us can count on bein’ free
They love our milk and honey
But they preach about some other way of livin’
But when they’re runnin’ down our country, man
They’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me”

It got me thinking....

Lowly AM radio has been the only sprig of the media world which has shown the light of truth.
Yes, the internet has opened cracks in the monolith of progressive media but against google and face book it’s but a candle in a storm.
What’s more, the media is but one aspect of the indoctrination of America. We need to return education to local control and get ahead of the trend towards homogeneity in what is presented to students as information.
God will be needed to fix this.

Media-Industrial Complex
Back in the 40-year Democrat monopoly on the House majority, I used to speak of the “Media-Congressional Complex.

Now we simply speak of the fact that

there is a distinction only, but no difference, between journalists and Democrats.

This is due to the fact that journalism, like socialism, is ineluctably cynical about society (only a cynic can seriously propose that negativity, such as journalism’s intense focus on bad news, is objective). And any cynic about society is, perforce, naive about the opposite of society - which is government.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)

Thanks areukiddingme1. I've noticed that the drive-bys have shuddup about the Steele dossier-based smears.
