Let’s see. Hmmmmmmmmm. 3’ long, asymptomatic, and comes out through your pee pee, vagina, rectum, or mouth. I think I might notice that before it emerged.

If I ever go to South Sudan I’m going to take a couple of cases of bottled water along just in case.

Transmission may have stopped, but they still live in the US and more effort is needed to eradicate them completely. Here's the most common we still have to deal with

“If I ever go to South Sudan I’m going to take a couple of cases of bottled water along just in case.”

I think it might take a couple cases of alcoholic beverage, just to point me in the direction of South Sudan.

And I’m a near teetotaler.

Actually, it emerges through the skin, usually on a lower extremity. It is removed through a very time-consuming process in which the protruding part of the worm is wrapped on a stick or piece of gauze and pulled out an inch or so. Each day, another inch or so is pulled out and wound up on the gauze or stick. The worm cannot be pulled too far on one attempt, or it might break inside the patient, causing the worm to die and resulting in often lethal infections. It takes weeks to remove the worm completely.

Similar worms exist in the US, but only affect wildlife.

In any case, never drink the water without boiling it first.

While we may find it's lifestyle unpleasant, the guinea worm is one of God's creatures. It fills a viable ecological niche.

While both are parasites, I suspect that Adam Schiff is a creature of the diabolical and therefore much more loathsome.

Removing a guinea worm is simply a matter of pulling it out slowly and carefully. Adam Schiff on the other hand inhabits a much filthier habitat and removing him from his rotten borough district in the San Gabriel foothills would require redistricting by the California state legislature.

OH MY!

Now I’m thinking superheating the water to 500 F. and treatment with ionizing radiation, then an R.O. …

Nothing good from Africa except maybe diamonds. If you’re into rocks and geology.

...Oh, and Cobalt too.
I hear most of our electric cars will need cobalt as part of lithium-ion batteries.

To be fair we need to give due credit to Pres. Carter on this. His Center has done good work leading on this, much better than anything Bubba’s has done. It just might be enough to get him up into purgatory. It’s conceivable this disease will be eradicated before Carter passes. Although there still is quite a bit to be done in Chad, where it jumped, from a human only disease, to dogs and cats a few years back. Chad had been cleared of it 20 years back, but it returned. More likely, peanut brain will predecease the guinea worm by a few years.
