Senior year in high school, working at a local supermarket, I was on carriage patrol.
I noticed there was a pocketbook in a carriage I picked up. So I took it to customer service. Turns out it belonged to a woman that worked at the market and she just “won” on a scratch ticket - $1200 in cash in an envelope, right there in the bag.
Bitch never said thank you to me or even offered to get me a glass of water.
Lesson learned. After that, whenever I’ve found anything, I turn in it. Turn it into my pocket.
