I studied the picture of the priests with the Nazis too. As a Catholic, I’d like to believe that those priests were caught by the camera as the raised their arms to quiet and quell the expressions of Nazism by the crowd. But it is equally possible that those priests were weak, frightened, or evil.
We know there will be a winnowing out but until then the goats will mingle with the sheep. There are evil forces at work within the Church trying to overcome it, but we know the end of the story. The Church will never be overcome; there will be a faithful remnant. Q told us to stop grouping people and just consider who is good and who is evil. He told us those we are taught to believe in are complicit. He posted a picture of the Pope. I think the message is that every institution is infested and we must prepare ourselves to hear that. Maybe we make too much out of the Roman salute. Maybe not doing it would have been the equivalent to kneeling for the national anthem at that point in German society.
As a Catholic, I saw that picture as Nazi propaganda at best and true at the worst. I can imagine how and would like to think that the Nazis might have threatened many people if those priests didn’t raise their hands in a Nazi salute. That said, like many others I.
