I feel for the Mother but her 14 year old was out very late on a school night and driving a stolen car. I don't know why he and his buddy ran from the cops, they did not face too much trouble being minors and all. They would have been released to their parents and at most would probably get probation.
Pretty sure he wont be stealing any more cars. Sad a family has to go through something like that.
I've read that cops are more nervous about young criminals. The younger ones are more likely to resist. The older ones know that the criminal justice system is not going to do much to them.
And the moral of the story is—Never jump in a river if you can’t swim.
Yup. Just a few discipline issues...
It can’t / won’t be another Trayvon.
Simply because Trump’s Department of Justice won’t fund, organize and coordinate the protests and riots as it did under Holder/Obama.
Well, from what's written, the kid jumped into the river on his own, with no help from anyone else. So, I'd say that's the how.
nobody forced him to steal cars, ride in stolen cars, speed away from the cops, nor jump into a river in the middle of the night...he deserved what he got, sadly...
She ouht to be brought in for interrogation for her parenting style.
That’s exactly what I was going to say.
Apostrophes always mean trouble. You cannot be too careful around an apostrophe.
“and questioning how a chase of a stolen vehicle ended in a boy’s death.”
Uh... Rather self explanatory?
He stole a car and then jumped into the river when he thought he was going to take the rap for it?
Loosing a child is always tragic, but let's see if I've got this right. The mother knowingly allowed her 14-year old son to leave in a car that she knew was stolen with another kid that she knew was not old enough to drive.
He could swim according to his mother but she said he was scared of the river. The Mississippi is very high and swift now, not to mention cold.
He didn’t mean to lead the cops on a high-speed chase in a stolen car, it was all a big misunderstanding.
And he had already been admitted to Harvard and MIT and Oxford on full-ride scholarships even though he was still in middle school, and he was a proud dad to his 8 kids.
Gotta keep an eye on them hyphens, too.
Yes, under 0bama there would probably be a justice department investigation and
the obligatory protests.
I hope the car is not damaged beyond repair.
Extremely sad. Obviously this mother could not control a young , pubescent male. Few women can by themselves. That’s why it was mind boggling that the Obama put the clamps on any school system that tried to impose discipline on unruly kids. Claimed the discipline was biased and violated their rights. A bit of well directed discipline may have done this kid a lot of good. Cops are there to enforce the law and assure public safety. They are not there to discipline.Nor could they have known how old the driver and passenger of that car were.
