A couple of thoughts - can adrenochrome be harvested from aborted babies, and could the recent push in several states (Mississippi comes to mind) to outlaw abortions past a lower gestational age be somehow related to this? (Hope they outlaw all of them but at least this is moving in the right direction)

IIRC ... either more is produced or the quality sufficiently high ... is yielded by torturing, terrifying the infants, toddlers.

The torture & terror are a 'necessary' part of the horrific practices.
