This is going to compliment my AR-15 (link below). I have the scope dialed in on the AR-15 so it shoots a 30 round 3/4" group at 25 yards and about 1 1/2" at 50 yards. That isn't due to the scope but rather my inability to completely hold the rifle steady but I'm getting better.
That said, I want to shoot out to 200 yards and am looking for a good scope that will allow me to clearly see a 10" wide target and clearly see the bullseye. The scope on my AR15 isn't strong enough to do that.
No hunting involved, this is simply to put holes in paper.
My budget is in the $500-$700 range.
Any suggestions?
Look at the Burris mtac I have one on my AR and it’s awesome.
What’s the spec?
Depends on how far away you want to see the diaper-heads coming.
200 yards seems about right.
Maybe more depending on how many of them...
$459.99 https://www.opticsplanet.com/sightron-s-ii-36x2mm-fixed-power-target-rifle-scope.html
That looks nice and it’s on sale.
For target work Weaver T36 with thin crosshairs and a small dot.
Nice. I guess I have a choice to make. I want something really good quality that won’t break or fall apart in a few years.
I ordered mine off Amazon for $388. You can also take a look at opticsplanet.com or swfa.
Why would you limit yourself to 4 power for target only shooting?
I’m not limiting myself. All options are open.

Friend of mine has this on a Smith & Wesson m&p 10. Very nice also though pricier.
I saw that earlier except I don’t want a hunting scope. I couldn’t shoot anything unless I was really hungry and maybe even no then.
This is strictly for target shooting.
Keep in mind that with an AR-10 you an shoot accurately out to 800 or 1000 yards, but you’ll need the glass, hands and control to do so. That said, buy the very best scope you can afford.
Me, I’d be looking at Leupold. if you can afford it, otherwise, go with a Mueller or other well reviewed scope.
I have the Mueller AO 8-25x50MM on my long range 24” Bull Barrel AR-10 and I can hit stuff at 500 yards, 600 if I skip the coffee and really relax before I shoot.
For my long range weapons...I’ve generally spent more on the glass than the rifle itself.
Check out Leupold.
Not cheap. Beautiful glass.
I know. Unfortunately the gun club I belong to only has a 200 yard range.
