Last night I saw some comments that the “bridge” in the recent Q drop was in Syria. US forces came under attack and the result was 400 dead Syrians and Russians. The Russians were not official forces but were contractors. I saw the story now linked on FR below. The link below doesn’t mention a bridge but talks about the foreign forces crossing a river to attack US forces. Putin says he doesn’t know who/why those people attacked.

Perhaps it was another attempt at starting WWIII. I read commentary at the time of the Hawaii missile that it was a attempt to trigger a war by making it seem as if NK launched on US when in fact it was a sub launch of unknown origin. Maybe this Syrian/Russian force that both US and Russia say were directed by unknown persons to attack, was meant to have US forces attack Syrian/Russian forces and then Putin would respond and US would respond (escalate). INstead Putin disavows those forces, Mattis said he doesn’t know who directed them.
Whomever they were they messed with the bull and got the horns.

I read about that. IIRC, we asked Russia to call off this force, and Russia claimed they weren’t part of the Russian Military. Since they had disavowed them, we were free to demonstrate that old adage: mess with the best die with the rest.
To me it’s another Proxy war. When Russia went into the Ukraine, I heard a speech that Mattis made. He said we are at war. He said that Putin had technically not violated the section 5, but nevertheless, it was war.
