Democrats hold a 15 percentage point lead over Republicans in a generic House ballot, according to a new Quinnipiac University Poll released Tuesday.
A majority of those polled, 53 percent, said they would like Democrats to win control of the House in this year's midterm election. Thirty-eight percent said they would like the GOP to keep control of the lower chamber, while nine percent said they did not know or did not provide an answer.
The 53 percent is up from the 49 percent who said earlier this month they would like the Democrats to take control of the House. In that previous survey, 40 percent said they want the Republican Party to win a majority in the lower chamber.

I heard the RATS were ahead of the GOP in a generic poll by 15 points, but that was a number of months ago.
Then, another poll had the RATS ahead by 6 points.
Then, sometime later, the RATS were ahead by 3 points.
Then, it was even.
A recent poll had the GOP up by 1 or 2 points.
Not buying this poll....did they poll blacks only in Richmond?

There were seven special elections held for seats in Congress in 2017—six for U.S. House seats and one for a U.S. Senate seat.
In the six U.S. House races, five seats were previously held by Republicans and one was previously held by a Democrat. None of the seats changed partisan control in the special elections, meaning there were five Republican holds and one Democratic hold.
In the U.S. Senate special election, Democrats took control of the Alabama seat previously held by Jeff Sessions (R).
