On October 25, a strange craft was seen in broad daylight flying amid the heavy traffic of the United States air corridors above the state of Oregon.
Pilots radioed in reports of an aircraft flying outside registered flight plans. It was not responding to radio calls. It had no collision-avoidance transponders. But it was always just outside clear sight.
On the ground, air traffic control was also seeing strange things. Its radar was intermittently tracking an unregistered object moving at unusually high speeds.
It was cause for real concern.
After all, 9/11 showed the potential havoc aircraft flying dark could achieve.
So F-15 interceptor fighters from the U.S. Air Force were scrambled to take a look.
The story was first picked up by "The War Zone" blog of the automotive website The Drive. It tracked down comments from the pilots that had seen something strange that day. It also obtained confirmation of sorts from the U.S. air base that launched the fighters.
Now "War Zone" has obtained ─ through a freedom of information claim ─ a small mountain of documents and hours of audio recordings detailing Oregons air traffic controllers' actions.
Amid the accounts of phone calls, radio exchanges and pilot interviews is an enticing picture of what a substantive UFO report looks like, and how authorities struggle to make sense of what is going on above them.
THAT LOOKS CRAZY
The unidentified flying object was first detected tearing through the air above Northern California by radar stations in Oakland. It was 4:30 p.m. It was unexpected. It was traveling very fast at 37,000.

What an effin fake (pardon my saltiness).
But he was a well paid foxtrotting fake. LOL ... laughing all the way to the bank ... and to hell ... where his laughter suddenly ceased.
Irony’s lost on you, huh? Say what you will but the man was right. If you’re going to go off flapping your jibs about something extraordinary be ready to back it up or shut your trap.
He earned it.
You need help. Get it.
Ma: "Billy, I don't you not to lie...extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."
Billy: "But Ma, I don't have time to present evidence, he's coming through the door."
BTW, Churchill couln’t prove that Hitler was going to try to take over Europe...until it was almost too late.
Thanks for demonstrating yet another, misperception, misapprehension of reality.
I did not hire you as supervisor, manager of my posting, writing or anything else.
Subject to the owner & mod's graces, I'll likely continue to flap my fingers on topics of interest to me hereon. I assume you have a scroll key and a page down key.
It may jangle your OCD & RAD related sensibilities to have to interact with folks you have no absolute control over--and whom you cannot conform to your deficient cosmology. Alas, eventually, you may gain enough years to realize that's the breaks. That's life.
By some galactic sized miracle, you might even eventually gain some respect for other perspectives.
Until then, I guess you may well have to continue feeling angst, unease, anxiety, hostility, allergic reactions when confronted with world views not conforming to your own.
Perhaps a study comparing the finite with the infinite would slightly enlighten you. Guess what--YOU are finite.
Which means ... drum roll ... you do not have infinite knowledge; you are not infinitely correct; you are not infinitely brilliant; you are not infinitely superior; and you certainly are not infinitely likeable.
Thanks for your obviously deeply heart-felt concern. /sarc
They think they know something for a fact, when it is actually just their opinion (i.e. the existence of God).
Claiming there is no God is an extraordinary claim, yet they have no proof.
Since you like aphorisms, here's one that applies to this situation: "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."
First, you define UFO?
It still can amaze us ... folks that appear to be somewhat bright ... choosing to be soooo incredibly brazenly, willfully blind.
It's as though they could be drowning in evidence and they'd still be spewing the same ignorant inanitities.
We haven't been able to come up with a psychological explanation beyond RAD. You have any ideas on that score?
The proof of existence is in your sentence. Do you actually believe there is no such thing as an unidentified flying object?
I'm sure you mean to question the existence of alien craft from outer space, and I join you in that, but there is no question that there are things flying about unidentified. Many of them are even ours.
I said that there is every reason to believe that the same conditions that existed here on Earth that created life almost certainly exist else where in the universe as well as the possibility of sentient life. What I said and I will repeat, by the laws of physics known to us inter galactic and interstellar space travel is a virtual impossibility and UFO and ‘’little green men’ are hokum. Prove to me otherwise. You have yet to do that.
The air traffic controllers had an object on their screen (topic of the thread). It was flying (it was on and off the radar and had been seen by pilots near it). It was unidentified.
Ergo, it was a UFO.
Now do I believe it was from another solar system far, far away? How the hell would I know?
Was it piloted by extraterrestrials? How the hell would I know?
For that matter, how the hell would you know?
I don't know, you don't know.
Better keep an open mind, because there are things that we just don't know...yet.
That said, there are theories and opinions all which carry various amounts of weight and some of which are supported by sound arguments (on all sides of this issue).
No. I talking about UFO’s in regards to claims that they are operated by beings coming here from another galaxy.
He noted that Churchill could not PROVE ...
You are ranting ad nauseum about our purported lack of proof.
We, too, like Churchill are trying desperately to wake-up the willfully blind with a wide variety of warnings ... akin to Churchill's warnings about Hitler.
I hope that parallelism is clear enough for you.
Rigor with the language is important. UFO’s certainly do exist. Alien spacecraft are another matter entirely.
