OK, I had no plans for Valentine's Day but my girlfriend is busting my chops since this morning to take her to this and that restaurant. I actually forgot until this morning LOL. Gimme some ideas to calm her down.
McDonald's? XD
I'm sitting in my truck on a windy mesa. And I reek. While crossing a marsh this morning during a bird survey, I slipped and face-planted into the muddy crud. Nearly ruined my binoculars and data sheet.
I figured I would do something like that so I brought a spare pair of clothes. But no extra pair of long underwear. I'm gonna freeze tonight in my sleeping bag.
Still have four more days of surveys. My boots are close to being ruined too. Not happy about that.
But then I will drive home to my lovely wife!!!
The reunion will be awesome!
(Probably quick, but awesome!)
So my Valentine's Day isn't so bad after all...
And THIS is why men and women are different. Give me a list and it’s done. Drop a bunch of semi-secret hints over a three month time frame and forget it. I’ll figure something out that is acceptable in a 15 minute timeframe at the wire.
I don’t do interprétative art either.
I appreciate the Jewish angle......
But St. Valentines day is more secular than religious....
Plus, the massacre had no relation to the holiday other than the date....
If you didn’t celebrate any holiday based on the coincidence of a horrible human tragedy, no holiday would be celebrated.....
Relax and enjoy a simple day to remember the ones we love....
we usually go exotic - thai, or indian or sushi. Spicy/thirsty/low lighting/less crowded/friendly staff/more intimate and relaxed.
But if you're not looking for intimate, (not popping out a ring box anytime soon) you might want a more crowded/loud/bright/bland setting.
I was in Pajama Game when I was in high school. We performed dinner theater at the country club. There were mad crushes, drinks & midnight swimming. Good times..... I love that song.....it creates a real mood.
Ha, just remembered it’s Hernando’s Hideaway..... Ole’
I saw Amy in downtown Phoenix,
She told me you married on Christmas Day
I asked her how you were doing
She said youre not okay
But I cant reach you any longer
Theres no try left in me anymore
My days of saving you from you have ended
Its time to close that door
Sophomoric song Ill never finish based on your line. :-)
[Take your sweetheart down to Walgreens to the greeting card aisle. Each pick out a nice card and exchange them. Share a kiss, put them back and walk hand-in-hand to the bar.]
Sounds like Valentine’s day in Scotland. ;)
Sending a Valentine’s hug your way!
Start with ordering some beautiful flowers. Follow with jewelry, e.g. a necklace, some chocolates and a nice dinner, if you can manage. And don’t forget the card and tell her how important she is to you and that you love her.
Good luck.
Restaurants are nuts tonight and most need reservations. Take her to a high end food store instead to pick up expensive gourmet foods you normally skip over while shopping. Bring the goods home to prepare a fancy feast for yourselves then go for a long walk together.
Sounds like my hubby & me. It’s another day which we agreed to several years ago. Truth be told I love the pressure being off. We had a party in my class & a staff Valentine party. I brought him a vanilla cream filled donut home. I was helping the kids make Valentine cards. I made my sweetheart a boingy floating heart w/ construction paper. Low key all the way!
Hubby and I have always celebrated Valentine’s Day on 2/15. The heart shaped box of Russell Stover chocolates are half price.
My wife has learned....
Step one....hit me in the forehead to make sure I’m paying attention..
Step two....in very simple brief terms explain clearly what you want....anything more than 20 seconds...squirrel...
Step three.....hit me in the forehead again.... (just for good measure)
Here’s an idea.....get a new girlfriend.
If she’s bitching about this...it’s not going to end well for you.
Since it’s the middle of the week, wifey and I are not doing anything. Just another Wednesday. We’ll do something on the weekend when we have more time.
Hooker and a threesome. Trust me...
I love it! Humor always works.
Too funny and fun!
I am making a special dinner, setting the table with china and heart plates, and gave everyone a card, candy and treats, and a gift.
I got a box of Russell Stover candy which I hate. I don’t want to sound ungrateful but the hubs knows I hate it.
My baby brother gave me a box of Shari’s Berries and a teddy bear. That I did like.
