A few observations. There are some newbies in the market, some folks investing on margin and getting getting their shirt taken to cover the calls...that said, I'd wager some billionaires are also tossing in a few million to get the market dropping as Yellen leaves.

Powell seems to be MIA - he is the new Fed Chair...he should grab a microphone and make himself known and be a somewhat calming force.

Cramer, the idiot, blames solely new investors - what a kook and a tool.

Deep State is truly working with the Soroses, Rothchild types and will continue to wreak havoc around Trump's tax cut timing...I see this continuing for a while.

Any thoughts out there and how to stop it?

Apple being investigated over slowing Iphones started some of this.

I suspect that some of the parties buying stocks to keep the prices up under Obama are selling them now to drop the market after the tax cuts passed.

1) Lot of "passive money" flowed into stocks over the past year

2) Funds and traders are causing volatility as they always do. Some have been warning about a correction for months.

3) Fear of high interest rates makes equities less attractive.

4) There will be short spurts of buying, and more will get out then.

I don’t know the reason, but it has been a very, very painful week financially.

Ask not what makes the market move. Ask whether you are flexible enough to trade in the same direction the market wants to move.

As someone said of another market dive, “If this is a correction, it must have been a hell of a problem.”

As for me, it macht nichts. My required annual IRA withdrawal isn’t until November, and I have no need to tap into it otherwise. By then, this will be in the rear view mirror.

I posted this on another thread:
“...Stock tip 101 - you can lose money as easily as you gain money. Be prepared for both....”
Exactly. I’ve been an investor for many years and have always kept that philosophy
in mind. It’s gonna close down probably well over 1000+ today. I will lose...again. It’s money that I don’t immediately need and it will turn back around eventually.
I never believed in the market being able to be “manipulated”, but one can’t help but wonder when one looks at it today and in light of their Royal thighness and their blessed Holy Anointed One now being exposed as “accomplices and participants” to this dossier BS. Perhaps, Deep State and billionaires libs were possibly called upon to distract from it anyway they can? Dunno. However, IF it’s “manipulated”, those involved need to be “drawn & quartered”, and their pieces dragged thru the streets for dogs and rats to feed on.

It will stop. It always has.

You cannot have an endless party of cheap money and fat spending. The real problems start when the 10 year treasury goes up to 4% or higher.

Interest rates are heading back towards normal. It's a long path to go that way. The Fed is also tightening it's balance sheet. I don't see it stopping. The stock market and real estate are going to correct. Hopefully it's a nice extended sideways correction from here, but I think a plunge is not out of the realm of possibility.

Get in.
Sit down.
Shut up.
Hold on..................

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRmTrWVqSas

Just got paid I got a little money
Aftershave and after a honey
Got my name on a shot of Jack whiskey
Gonna roll with me, you gotta roll quickly
Get in, sit down, shut up and hold on
Can’t wait, too late, it’s time to get gone
Show up downtown, get us a buzz on
Get in, sit down, shut up and hold on
(Oh oh oh oh oh oh, Oh oh oh oh oh oh)
Shoot a little pool, shoot a little 8 ball
Ain’t goin’ home
Make a little phone call
Feelin’ pretty good
Stumble out the front door
She pulls up in a farm girl Ford singin’
Get in, sit down, shut up, and hold on
Can’t wait, too late, it’s time to get gone
Find us a dirt road get a groove on
Get in, sit down, shut up and hold on
There’s no time like night time and the moonlight
To have a good time
Baby let’s throw down, don’t slow down
If I’m gonna go down
I’m gonna go down crazy
Get in, sit down, shut up and hold on
Can’t wait, too late, it’s time to get gone
Find us a dirt road and get a groove on
Get in, sit down, shut up and hold on
(Oh oh oh oh oh oh, Oh oh oh oh oh oh)
Get in.
Sit down.
Shut up.
Hold on!
There’s no time than the night time
In the moonlight, to have a good time
Baby lets throw down, don’t slow down
If I go down, I’m gonna go down crazy
(Oh oh oh oh oh oh, Oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Oh oh oh oh oh oh, Oh oh oh oh oh oh)

Stocks were overbought
Soros is attacking the markets to punish Trump
Earnings are done, sell on the fact...
Everyone was waiting for a crack, now it’s here
Program trading kicked in as various sell programs had been set up

I suspect that a large number of investors are locking in profits. Would have to drop another 2,000 before I suspect panic selling to kick in.

There has been speculation that some central banks had been buying equities to prop up markets under Obama, and maybe Yellen’s departure was the sell signal to them, lest Trump’s success undermine the globalist progressive agenda. I try not to be conspiratorial, but Soros did say he’d give up half his fortune in 2004 to guarantee Bush’s defeat. There are big media company CEOs that gladly give up ratings/ad dollars to push the progressive agenda as well.
