The 60th High School Reunion
He was a widower and she a widow. They had known each other for a number of years, having been high school classmates and having attended class reunions in the past, without fail.
This 60th anniversary of their class, the widower and the widow made a foursome with two other singles. They had a wonderful evening, their spirits high, with the widower throwing admiring glances across the table . . . and the widow smiling coyly back at him.
Finally during one dance, he picked up courage to ask her, "Will you marry me?
After about 6 seconds of careful consideration, she answered, "Yes.... yes I will!"
Needless to say, the evening ended on a happy note for the widower. However, the next morning he was troubled. Did she say Yes or did she say No? He couldn't remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. He went over-and-over the conversation of the previous evening, but his mind was blank. He remembered asking the question, but for the life of him could not recall her response.
With fear and trepidation, he picked up the phone and called her. First, he explained that he couldn't remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the past evening. As he gained a little more courage, he then inquired of her, "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say .Yes or did you say No? "Why you silly man, she replied, I said Yes. Yes I will! And I meant it with all my heart!" The widower was delighted. He felt his heart skip a beat. Then she continued. "And I'm so glad you called, because I couldn't remember who asked me.
I agree - a lot of bad high school memories - on what began as a humorous thread.
Same here. First impression on my 25th reunion: who are all these old bastards?

I went to my twentieth forty years ago. Realizing that the classmates who ignored me in high school didn’t do any better a job at life than me, I treated them with masked contempt. They vote me Most Changed. LOL
My 50th in two years. The school has been closed and turned into housing for the elderly.
Seriesly.
It’s truly amazing what time and gravity will do to the human body.
“Say, Bob, how did you like the party last night.”
“It was okay, I guess.”
“I admire how you treated you wife, calling her Crisco all night. How did that nickname come about?”
“Crisco’s her party name. At home I call her lard-ass.”
I am mistaken for mid-50's on a regular basis.
I chalk some of it up to running marathons and 10Ks for years that kept me in shape.
The rest is all genes. Most people will age like their parents did.
As for me, I don’t hate the people I went to school with. I simply don’t have anything in common with them anymore. The only thing in common in the first place was geographical proximity. There are a few I see from time to time in town, and when we talk, it’s good. But the vast majority? Whatever.

I went to my tenth. Took a walk across the park with a beautiful girl I always wanted to ask out. She was already divorced. We walked up to where my three beautiful children were swinging, and I realized I really love the way God arranges things.
It’s funny, but thanks to Facebook, I’ve actually become closer to a lot of the people I went to school with than when I actually went to school.
When you go to a small school its almost like cousins, a whole different deal IMHO.
I totally agree.
He didn’t want you to meet the Mother of your Half Sibling? #:^) LOL
Because crazy women stay crazy...even after 50 years.
I went to my 30th and found that I have more friends among them now than I did then.
very possibly...
alas, he NEVER spoke a single word of it, his entire life
so i will never know
Yep. Sometimes that world you left many years ago needs to remain that world you left many years ago.
The loser cliques were a waste then and a waste now. Those HOT girls are not anything near what they were.
Yeesh!
SOMETHING was ratting her, that’s for sure
its amazing she could even recognize Father, after a half century
and from at least 100 meters distance, too
she could replace all of the FBI’s tracking dogs
Or, she worked for the IRS.
When I got together with my classmates a few years ago after joining a class of 72 Facebook page for my high school, my immediate reaction was, Hmm...whats everyones parents doing here!? It felt good to get comments from them like Wow! You havent changed a bit! Clean living and drinking lots of water every day will do that for you apparently, lol!
ha!
actually, not.
my family has always paid its taxes on time and in full
lots of complaining, yes, the taxes are oppressive ... our Republic was a lot lot better off under its original constitution without an income tax
but we always paid
