Actor Jim Caviezel, world-famous for his portrayal of Jesus in the blockbuster 2004 movie The Passion of the Christ, has confirmed that he is joining forces with director Mel Gibson to reprise his role in a sequel about the Resurrection, now on the drawing board.
There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience," said the actor in a USA Today interview. It's great. Stay tuned.
The Resurrection. Big subject. Oh, my God, said Director Mel Gibson in a 2016 interview. Were trying to craft this in a way thats cinematically compelling and enlightening so that it shines new light, if possible, without creating some weird thing.
The Academy Award-winning director who also co-wrote and produced The Passion of the Christ is still conceptualizing how the story will be told on the big screen.
I wont tell you how hes going to go about it, Caviezel told USA Today. But Ill tell you this much, the film hes going to do is going to be the biggest film in history. Its that good.
The Passion of the Christ brought to life the last twelve hours of the life of Jesus Christ in a powerful, graphic way that had never before been achieved. Despite Hollywoods disdain for movies about Christianity, audiences flocked to theatres to see it, making it one of the most successful, highest grossing films in history.
Caviezel, who besides being an acclaimed actor, is a man of faith who publicly challenges his fellow Catholics to live their faith out loud in this darkening world.
Earlier this month, the actor spoke before a huge crowd of college students in Chicago at the SLS18 (Student Leadership Summit 2018) conference sponsored by The Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS).
Set yourselves apart from this corrupt generation, the actor challenged those in attendance. Be saints. You werent made to fit in. You were born to stand out.
We must shake off this indifference, this destructive tolerance of evil. But only our faith and the wisdom of Christ can save us, he said. But it requires warriors, ready to risk their reputations, their names, even our very lives, to stand for the truth.
By God, we must live, Caviezel concluded, and with the Holy Spirit as your shield and Christ as your sword, may you join St. Michael and all the angels in sending Lucifer and his henchmen straight right back to Hell where they belong!

You and I are simpatico. I saw it and cried nearly the entire length. My body was tired afterwards, and what the Pope said about it at the time seemed spot on to me. “It is as it was”.
The anti-Mel Gibson stuff during and after, I thought was the result of the attacks. When he went off on a clearly Oriental police officer, asking him if he were Jewish, I saw that as a drunken man making a joke. Of course he wasn’t Jewish, but Mel had been besieged for so long, and pickled in his drink of choice, just make a bad joke. I don’t know how else it fits with the narrative, but I am often wrong.

Nothing is cooler than what really happened.Well, zombies are part of what happened
To: Poison Pill
I doubt they looked or acted like “zombies”.
I’m sure that, just as the Lord healed people instantly, those that rose from their graves didn’t look anything but normal and healthy.

Not sure— an honest and convincing portrayal of the truth in the Gospels -would- be shocking to most audiences these days I think.

"Well, zombies are part of what happened "I know what you refer to, and you are an idiot to say such a thing with regards to people coming to life at Jesus' death and also His resurrection.
These were quite simply exclamatory acts that highlights God's power over life and death. Your attempt at mockery = FAIL.

Doesn’t say corrupted bodies of the saints.
A “stiff” is just that, stiff. Any movement would require: freedom of movement, which means: everything working.
They arose from graves. The graveyard was not in the city. They went into the “holy city” and appeared to many. I doubt they would have gotten past the gatekeepers looking like lepers or worse. If spotted, they would have been pelted with rocks until they left town.
Rotting and stinking Lazarus was raised from the dead. I willing to bet that even his grave clothes didn’t smell bad when the Lord said “loose him, and let him go”.
God doesn’t do stuff halfway right.

**Went to a conference on the Shroud.**
I’m guessing that they addressed the separate napkin that was about Jesus’ head. (John 20:6,7)
I assume he was “bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin”, just like Lazarus (John 11:44).
Lazarus managed to “come forth” in his linen bound condition, but was apparently still bound enough for the Lord to order him loosed from his grave clothes.
Not swearing the shroud to be a fake, but people were not stupid 1900 years ago. A mortician making it with the aid of a dead man’s corpse, well..... Not me, I’d never do it.

Passion made $1 Billion.
That made a lot of Jewish Hollywood directors eat crow.
Historically, having Jewish producers make Christian movies is like, bad idea.
Having Christian Mel make a Christian movie, with Mel’s profound vision, is stunning. All the Jews could do is attack him, while he earned a Billion big ones.

These were quite simply exclamatory acts that highlights God's power over life and death.Well it certainly is a fantastic story! But you would think an event that spectacular would have made it into the other Gospels. I mean it would have been impossible to miss a horde of the risen dead milling about Jerusalem.
Anyway, here's hoping Mel puts it in the movie.

No voodoo drugs involved, so no, zombies were not part of the Resurrection of Christ.

Speculation on your part. The KJV says: "bodies of the saints" which doesn't suggest they were full of animated life.
New International Versionand the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.
New Living Translationand tombs opened. The bodies of many godly men and women who had died were raised from the dead.
English Standard VersionThe tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised,
Berean Study BibleThe tombs broke open, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised.
Berean Literal BibleAnd the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints having fallen asleep arose.

King James BibleAnd the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
