I have a picture of my grandfather and uncle shoving snow in suits and hats. My how styles have changed.
Thanks for posting this. I’m amazed at the number of fat, overweight, obese folks were walking around. My how times have changed.
That is really fascinating. Thanks.
Well I feel old now.
Very interesting...very smoggy...if the environmentalists would only admit how clean our air is NOW! Note, also how short the men’s ties were....I noticed that this week looking through old pictures of my husband’s great grandfather.
Very cool!
And it was just as segregated as the Deep South.

Wow!
Back in '79, as a class assignment for a university class I travelled into the city to take photos of the Chrysler building's interior and exterior. I borrowed my dad's Nikon camera to perform this task.
As I entered the main elevator lobby of the Chrysler building, I took out the camera to take some photos. A security guard immediately pulled me to the side and confiscated my camera. I was then escorted up to one of the top floors to a patent attorney's office and read the riot act. Fortunately for me, once I explained the task I was assigned, he offered me several glossy photo books on the design and construction of the tower and instructed the security officer to return my camera as I exited the building. The professional glossy documents were not accepted for credit with the assignment, excuse denied. I only received credit for the written portion of the assignment and never received the glossy material back. Harumph.
