A 19-year-old Irish-born man is being held for deportation from the US, having overstayed his 90-day holiday visa seven years ago when his parents brought him to live in America when he was 12-years-old.
Although both of Galway-born Dylan ORiordans parents have green cards, having lived in Massachusetts before his birth, he was not authorized to live in the US when he moved with his family in 2010. ORiordan is now detained in Suffolk County House of Corrections awaiting deportation back to Ireland, despite being married and having a young daughter in the US. [ ]
ORiordan was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as he left a holding cell four months ago. He had been arrested after having an argument with his girlfriend Brenna in a shopping mall when a woman called the police claiming that ORiordan was guilty of domestic abuse. It was nothing at all, he told NPR. Some woman called the cops, said I was abusing my girlfriend. [ ]
As the 19-year-old had overstayed a holiday visa, he was not entitled to a trial and is subject to deportation from the US without any immigration hearing.

Very Nice.
Parents fault. They saw to their own immigration status but not his.
One St. Patrick’s Day, and he will get the gist of it.
What possible difference does it make that he is from Ireland?
For one thing it would be the lead story on CNN and MSNBC and front page above the fold in the Washington Compost and NY Times if had been a Mexican.
PING
Nah; “smuggling” is not too strong. Child abuse (mental) is implied too, and who knows what else went on.
Get rid of him. He should have been working on citizenship all this time. NO MORE FREE RIDES.
Nope...let one stay and the rest do...OUT.
When our laws say all illegal aliens
it means you too!!
Sorry, Dylan, maybe you should have learned to write and sing **shole folk songs.
...or stopped beating your baby momma...
In Ireland? The usual...

Deport every illegal. No exceptions.
I've been there. Beautiful country, wonderful people. But in Dublin it could be called a "sh*t faced country"!!!!
I hope he can withstand the beautiful women with sexy accents.
The way I look at it, his parents came to a country they didn’t know and they survived. I’m sure he will survive Ireland, it isn’t Venezuela yet.
I’m sure his documents are laying around here somewhere.
