Just remembering old FRiends
They are part of the great cloud of witnesses cheering us on!
Well, he was - ahem - “passionate”
In memorium to them all. I’ve met many of these fine people.
But a little sermon now and you can blast me, but it’s meant well.
There are an awful lot of short lifespans on that list. In some cases, it’s bad luck. Barbara Olsen died on 9/11, for example.
But it’s not all bad luck. I was at a freeper party many years back. I met a lot of nice people but most of the people were smokers and a lot of people looked like they didn’t make the best choices in diet and exercise. A number of people from that party are now prematurely dead.
I understand people who have passion for the country may forget to take care of themselves. And people can make their own choices. But if you’re not taking care of your health, please look down that list and notice the lifespans. We can take care of the country and take care of ourselves.
He always had a little cigar image at the end of each post.
Yeah, wondered about him vanishing and that smoking tag.
Dighton and I used to trade jokes all the time. I haven’t heard from him in years.
Yeah, I miss JR.
You’re absolutely right.
My father, Edlinn
One of my faves....
Thanks!
Besides sendng $100 pay pal to the cause, grab someone and show them the power! Regards.
I loved his threads...he took us along with him on his forays into the wilds of Florida and around *Cabbage Hammock*. For a northern birder, through his eyes I saw many beautiful birds and places, that were outta my league and 'hood. He is missed.
The legacy of his wonderful photos is still available here:

later
Common Tator was very Un-Common and in a very good way...
Wow! You posted this exactly two years to the day that we lost JRandomFreeper. Were you remembering him?
I suppose some just moved on. Others had no one to let FR know they were gone.
I dont think so, but he lives in Germany and there was a law passed that prohibited posting offensive speech on the Internet.
He also had a major computer problem.
He had some excellent posts and I hope he continues to post, here. I disagreed with him on some Trump perspectives and one trade item, but he was/is completely solid on so much more.
I was just remembering a lot of them....got nostalgic..
I miss harpseal
Also Marcella she was good buds with JRF/ johnny. They were 2 stars on The Weekly Garden Thread. Marcella hates squirrels with a passion. JRF used to grow his own tobacco plants and roll his own.
