Just remembering old FRiends
Anyone heard from/about FarmerDean?
Last I heard he was sick and in pretty bad shape.
That was some months ago I believe.
Marcella is still alive and kicking. She is in the process of getting a book published.
Last heard from Dean in June. Rough going. Prayers.
Bookmarked - thanks
Cheers to you, tomcat! Any day you’re above the grass is a good day!
Sorry, didn't know him.
Way back in June?
Hopefully he is just recovering from what was ailing him.
Would love to hear from him again.

I have told this story many times....
My dad would be 100 this year. He passed away at 90. When he was about 84 my wife and I were sitting in his den with him as he read the paper, a daily pastime. He folded up a section he was reading and said, “That’s odd...”
We inquired, “What Dad?”
He asked, “Have you ever noticed how many people die in alphabetical order?”
LOL!!!
OTOH, some are gone for years (prison? Gitmo? Sitcom? Piss off Jim?) then just reappear without warning.
I’ve been wondering that too.
Jokes get to be old because they’re too good to just throw away. :^)
Pull my finger.
WHAT-A-FINGER
Thank you.
Edlinn was my favorite poster...
He passed yesterday 2016. Still miss him.
Please give Marcella my best!
I was notified about this thread and came to read it. Kartographer, Johnny (JRandomFreeper), and I were buddies.
When I met Johnny on this forum, I lived over four hours away from him. Then, I moved north of Dallas and could get to his house in 30 minutes.
Then, cancer hit him. He was fond of my Bob, who is an earth scientist/geologist. Johnny loved to talk shop with Bob. Being a female, I was ignored in their talks. Then, one day, they were making something and couldnt read the small print at the bottom of a page about putting this thing together. I, the worthless female, could read that print Ha! They needed me.
Sometimes he needed to go to an appointment with one of his doctors and couldnt get there, and we would take him to the doctor, then to the grocery store. We did have wonderful times with him during the year he dealt with the cancer. He absolutely was not going to give up fighting that.
I have written a book, EMERGENCIES HAPPEN! BE PREPRED. Am going through the process to find a book agent to sell it to a publisher. As I wrote the book, I thought of Kartographer and Johnny and the FR prepper threads where we had such a good time together, sharing prepper knowledge. Johnny and I were also on the Gardening threads, run by greeneyes, and we had a blast with all on there.
tflabo, yes, I hated killer squirrels that murdered my plants. Rather than kill the murdering squirrels, I got net to keep them out and also built a net room in the middle of the little garden so the murdering squirrels and murdering birds couldnt get in. There is a gardening chapter in my book which tells readers what to do about murdering squirrels and murdering birds. Writing that chapter took me back to the gardening threads here.
greeneyes, I just bought new seeds of all kinds, most of them suitable to live in containers. These seeds are for storage so I will have them in a prolonged emergency situation. I should go to your gardening thread and list these seeds as I studied seeds to know about new ones available now.
To all: it was a pleasure to come back to FR and speak to friends.
