The mystery of the final resting place of the wife of Ancient Egypt's most famous ruler has moved a step closer to being solved.
Egyptologists previously discovered what they believe is the burial chamber of Ankhesenamun, Tutankhamun's wife, in the Valley of The Kings.
If confirmed, it could help to unravel the final fate of the boy king's wife, who suddenly disappeared from historical records after her second marriage.
The teen bride is believed to have had a tragic life, marrying her father, her grandfather and her half-brother Tutankhamun.
Archaeologists have now begun to excavate an area near a tomb at the World Heritage Site, which they believe contains her body.

I won’t argue religion with anyone, but I enjoy listening to someone tell me why they find joy in their religion or in their lack of it. The line I won’t let anyone cross is telling me that their beliefs should be mine. And we get a lot of haters on this site who believe they have an obligation to stop every point of view but their own. I don’t think they even think of it as arguing. Just as correcting.
I was blessed with a mother who let me take my own intellectual positions from at least the age of five. She respected me and let me work things out for myself, though she’d tell me when she hoped that I’d eventually reach a point on some topic with which she’d agree. I knew always to respect her positions. She was such a good woman.
I don’t know John Henry’s heart enough to know if I would have enjoyed conversing with him. His brother Henry, yes. He wrote entirely of love and joy and I can’t imagine anything more wonderful than to have sat at his feet and listen to him talk with the children in the room. There are people who frustrate me SO much because they’re dead. Henry is one.
This story originates with Zawi, so I think I’ll wait and see who or what is actually in the tomb.
Heh, exactly. Looking for the foundation deposits was the method used in the late 19th-early 20th centuries by Egyptologists and ahem, others, searching for tombs, right up to and including Howard Carter. They are generally intact because they had no monetary value to ancient thieves. Naturally I'd love to see a tomb discovery, but with Hawass, if he digs up the KV tomb workers' outhouse, he'll claim it's the greatest Egyptological find of the century.
Thanks! Speaking of x-rated ancient Egyptian graffiti:

I did my googling. Wow. I take it they’ve dated the graffiti.
Wise woman.
