Can you give me some suggestions for a good read (beside FreeRepublic)?
I've always like Tom Clancy's books and Dean Koontz.
I started using Kindle and thought I would ask you what you liked.
Thanks for your help.
I read that book almost 30 years ago and ended up dating a stewardess because of it.
He's a local bread delivery guy who is also a writer. Met him Thursday night and he's quite a unique individual. Others in the party who have read the book absolutely loved it...........
Just sayin'..............Check it out
The Lost Boys by Orson Scott Card.
U.S.S. Seawolf
I decided to go with the Plantagenet series so the first book I read by her was "When Christ and His Saints Slept" and have since moved on to "Time and Chance" which I am in the middle of.
I think you will like them.
Matt Bracken
By Robert Leckie
Thank you. I am checking them out now!

If you like Tom Sawyer and To Kill a Mockingbird, I’d recommend A Cry of Angels.
All good books. If you’re into SHTF books, Earth Abides, the classic Alas Babylon, Malevil, and No Blade of Grass come to mind.
The Puritan Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, by Weber
It’s a classic. I gave it to my daughter for Christmas. She recently got her degree in Finance. I told her she needs to read it to understand America and capitalism.
“The Last Panther” sounds like something my husband would love. He is a WWII buff and has interviewed about 30 WWII vets. Started doing this when it dawned on him that many of his customers/clients were elderly gentlemen who had served in either the European and Pacific theaters and no one had their stories. Though they might not have talked to anyone before they might be willing to talk to him. Sometime I need to find the time to transcribe all of this material and do ... something? with it.
A Higher Call - true story - excellent read. WWII era. What I found rather interesting was the German Luftwaffe’s view of the Nazis. It’s the account of a German BF-109 pilot and a B7 pilot and bomber crew.
The Heart Mender - by Andy Andrews.
Oh - there’s one on Librivox.org called “Outwitting the Hun.” Audio is free on Librivox.
For non-fiction: Ernie Pyle’s “Brave Men” and John Steinbeck’s “Once There Was A War” books written as WWII correspondence.
Just finished “Cannibalism, Headhunting and Human Sacrifice in North America: A History Forgotten” by George Franklin Feldman.
Currently reading “At the Springs with George” by John Douglas a book about Washington’s connection with Berkley Springs, WV, where I live.
Written Out of History: The Forgotten Founders Who Fought Big Government by Mike Lee.
Fiction wise anything by Steinbeck and Bracken.
A search on my Nook doesn’t turn up anything by Matthew Bracken.
Most anything by Mark Steyn, Tom Wolfe, Theodore Dalrympl, or David Horowitz.......
A Cold Day In Hell (Circles In Hell Book 2) Kindle Edition ($0.00)

Every American should read Witness by Whittaker Chambers.
I’ve read most of Lee Childs’ Jack Reacher books and enjoyed them.
