If Congress cannot agree on a budget plan by Jan. 19, the government will shut down. This isnt the outcome anyone wants. But Democrats ought to start steeling themselves now: If the Republican majoritys budget plan leaves the dreamers in limbo, fails to supply desperately needed aid to Puerto Rico and coastal states battered by natural disaster, or allows the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to wither away, Democrats need to be ready to shut the whole thing down.

WAPO clearly has not been keeping track of the number of times President Trump has set dems up for their coming fall. Nor have they noticed that the President can circumvent their news filtering and tell people what really happened.
Nor have they noticed that most, if not all, thinking people automatically assume that the MSM, including WAPO, are either lying, making it up, lying, or are promoting fake news because it fits their biases. or maybe they are just lying.
Yay! Only the “non-essential” components of government are shut down. Most of them are unconstitutional. What we need to do next is to change the policy of paying off-work federal employees the retro-active back-pay from the shutdown period.
Please Mr. Fox, don’t throw me in that brier patch. Don’t think of shutting down the government.
Perfect. The best way to help PR, CHIP and any of the other social programs is to shut them down completely. Exactly what you would expect from corporate publishing executives who know nothing outside Madhatten.
Bribery. They will pay for this.
President Trumps use of social media to go around the media has left the democrats with out their major disinformation tool.
Please shutdown the government of this country because we want to enforce our laws against invaders - do it ... DO IT!!! I triple dog dare the Democrats to pull that trigger.
P.S - yes they will take the bait
Yes, shut down the government of the US citizens to show how much you care about fraudulently documented foreigners.
Make my day.
One little detail that seems to be a given is that government workers will be PAID retroactively when a shutdown is concluded. But Trump has to sign the bill that pays them. Who says Trump will play that game? Could get interesting!
I guess they haven’t tried this one yet with the President. Do they really want the twitter beating they’re going to get from Trump? I say go ahead and let’s see who blinks first.
So, if the government is shut down, does that mean we don’t have to pay any benefits or medical services for illegal aliens who came from shitholes?
Asking for a friend.
Phrase of the day.
The Left continues to breaks hysteria records with a frequency I never thought possible.
When I think of Haiti, I instantly visualize tropical storm devastation and economic collapse. Next, I think of the Clintons profit chasing there.
The USA needs to assist human and economic recovery in these countries, not relocate their population here.
So they want to threaten me over their lust for illegal alien votes?
To Hell with the ***DAMNED DEMOCRAT PARTY!
If PR is still floundering, the problem is internal.
January 12, 2018! Mark it down. I agree with the Washington Post! What is the world coming to?
Which just begs the question: if they're non-essential, why have them in the first place??
Shut 'em down and LEAVE 'EM DOWN!
Not one mention of hardworking AMERICANS from the DC Compost in their little rant. I’ve longed resigned to the fact the national media are the Democrats public relations firm. It makes their demise even sweeter!
If their is a choice between doing something right & keeping the government or not doing what is right(& constitutional)at the expense of shutting down the government, then shut it down. I think the Constitution clearly states about citizens legal versus illegal,so what’s the argument? Doing this sort of thing often enough negates even having a Constitution.
So the Democrat-Communists are going to shutdown the US government for illegal aliens?
